Triumph Tire Changer Wheel Balancer Combos
Shop Triumph tire changer and wheel balancer combos built from the same NTC and NTB machines sold separately. The useful decision is not simply choosing a package: first match the tire changer to the tires you service, then match the balancer to wheel weight and measurement workflow so neither half of the package becomes the limitation.

Choose the Changer First, Then the Balancer
Triumph combo packages pair different tire-changing and balancing capabilities. NTC-950 family machines cover passenger and light-truck tire work, with -1 and -2 versions adding assist arms. NTC-650 and NTC-690 are heavy-duty tire changers. On the balancing side, NTB-550 and NTB-800 cover passenger/light-truck wheels, while NTB-1200 supports a substantially heavier wheel.
| Combo path | Tire changer side | Balancer side | Best reason to choose it |
|---|---|---|---|
| NTC-950 + NTB-550 | Base passenger/light-truck changer | Manual-input 150 lb balancer | Straightforward entry into a complete passenger/light-truck tire-service bay. |
| NTC-950 + NTB-800 | Base passenger/light-truck changer | More automated 150 lb balancer | Same changer with faster wheel-data entry on the balancing side. |
| NTC-950-1 / -2 + NTB-550 or NTB-800 | Assist-arm passenger/light-truck changer | Passenger/light-truck balancer | For shops that regularly see difficult low-profile or run-flat tires and still balance conventional passenger/light-truck wheels. |
| NTC-950-2 + NTB-1200 | Dual-assist passenger/light-truck changer | 350 lb heavy-duty balancer | Broader balancing capacity without moving the tire changer into the NTC-650/690 heavy-duty architecture. |
| NTC-650 / NTC-690 + NTB-1200 | Heavy-duty tire changer | Heavy-duty truck balancer | For shops whose tire and wheel work extends into larger truck and industrial assemblies. |
Why the Balancer Choice Matters
NTB-550 and NTB-800 share a 150 lb maximum wheel weight, but NTB-800 automates more of the measurement-entry process. NTB-1200 raises the documented maximum wheel weight to 350 lb and is designed for truck as well as passenger wheels. If the shop sees heavier assemblies, the balancer can become the deciding half of the package.
Why the Changer Choice Matters
The NTC-950 family is built around passenger and light-truck service. NTC-950-1 and NTC-950-2 add assist-arm capability for difficult tires. NTC-650 and NTC-690 are heavy-duty robotic-arm machines with much larger documented tire envelopes. A heavy-duty balancer does not turn a passenger-car tire changer into a truck tire changer.
Triumph Combo FAQs
Should I choose NTB-550 or NTB-800 in a combo?
Both are documented for 150 lb maximum wheel weight and 10 to 28 inch wheel size. NTB-800 automates distance and wheel-diameter entry, while NTB-550 requires manual entry of all three basic wheel dimensions.
When should I choose an NTB-1200 combo?
Choose NTB-1200 when the wheel side of the workload requires the heavier 350 lb maximum wheel weight or larger documented tire diameter. Then make sure the paired tire changer also matches those larger tire assemblies.
What is the difference between NTC-950, 950-1 and 950-2 combos?
The changer platform stays in the passenger/light-truck class, but technician assistance increases. NTC-950 is the base machine, 950-1 adds one assist arm and 950-2 adds dual assist arms.
