Triumph NTC-950-2 and NTB-550 Features

Dual Pneumatic Assist Arms

The NTC-950-2 comes equipped with two pneumatic assist arms that work together to hold down the tire bead during mounting and demounting. This dual arm setup makes it much easier to change difficult tires like run flats and low profile performance tires that would otherwise fight back against the technician. The pneumatic operation means consistent pressure without arm fatigue.

Bead Blast Technology

The integrated bead blast system shoots a powerful burst of air into the tire sidewall to assist with both breaking stubborn beads and seating new tires on the rim. This feature eliminates the need for separate bead seating equipment and speeds up the tire change process significantly. It works with the 120 PSI maximum air pressure the machine supports.

Heavy Duty Bead Breaker

A side-mounted bead breaker delivers 5,500 lb of force to break even the most stubborn tire beads. This powerful bead breaker handles wheels up to 26 inches in outside clamping mode and 28 inches in inside clamping mode. The robust design stands up to continuous use in busy shop environments.

Wide Clamping Range

The turntable accommodates wheels from 14 to 26 inches using outside clamping and 16 to 28 inches using inside clamping. Maximum wheel width is 15 inches and maximum tire diameter is 43 inches. This range covers nearly every passenger vehicle, light truck, and SUV wheel that comes into a typical tire shop.

Wheel Brake for Accurate Balancing

The NTB-550 wheel balancer includes a wheel brake that holds the wheel stationary while you apply weights. This prevents the wheel from spinning during weight placement, improving accuracy and reducing the need to rebalance. The balancer achieves +/-1 gram accuracy with cycle times of just 6 to 9 seconds.

Dual Mount and Demount Heads

The tire changer includes both steel and plastic mount/demount heads. Use the steel head for standard tires and switch to the plastic head when working with delicate alloy wheels or chrome rims that could be scratched. Plastic wheel clamp covers provide additional protection for expensive wheels.

Free LTL Freight Shipping

This combo ships free to the lower 48 United States via LTL common carrier freight. Your equipment will arrive on a 48 foot semi truck. Shipping typically takes 3 to 14 days depending on your location, so please be patient as freight shipping is slower than small package delivery.

Lift Gate Service Included

Tire equipment ships with lift gate service at no extra charge. The truck driver will lower your equipment to the ground at the back of the truck using the hydraulic lift gate. This makes receiving your equipment manageable even without a loading dock.

Customer Responsibilities

The truck driver only drives the truck. They will not move the equipment inside your shop or garage, and they will not assemble the equipment. You are responsible for calling the freight company to schedule a delivery appointment once we email you the carrier information and tracking number. If you prefer, we can ship to the carrier's nearest freight terminal for you to pick up with a trailer or moving van.

Shipping Exclusions

Triumph NTC-950-2 and NTB-550 FAQ

What is the maximum wheel size the NTC-950-2 tire changer can handle?

The NTC-950-2 can clamp wheels from 14 to 26 inches using outside clamping and 16 to 28 inches using inside clamping. Maximum wheel width is 15 inches and maximum tire diameter is 43 inches. This covers the vast majority of passenger vehicles, SUVs, and light trucks.

Can this tire changer handle run flat tires?

Yes, the NTC-950-2 is specifically designed to handle run flat tires along with low profile and wide profile tires. The dual pneumatic assist arms hold down the stiff sidewalls that make run flats difficult to change, and the bead blast system helps break and seat the beads.

What power supply do I need for this combo?

Both the tire changer and wheel balancer run on standard 110V single phase power, which is available in virtually any shop or garage. We recommend dedicated circuits for each machine to ensure consistent performance.

How accurate is the NTB-550 wheel balancer?

The NTB-550 provides +/-1 gram accuracy with cycle times of 6 to 9 seconds. The wheel brake feature holds the wheel stationary while you place weights, which helps maintain this accuracy by preventing the wheel from moving during weight application.

What air pressure does the tire changer require?

The NTC-950-2 operates with a maximum of 120 PSI air pressure. You will need a shop air compressor capable of providing adequate airflow for the bead blast system and dual pneumatic assist arms. A compressor that can maintain pressure during continuous use is recommended for busy shops.

Will the delivery driver bring the equipment into my shop?

No, the freight driver will only lower the equipment to the ground using the lift gate. You are responsible for moving it into your shop and assembling it. The combined shipping weight is approximately 1,225 lbs, so you will need equipment or help to move the crates.

What is covered under the warranty?

The 1 year parts warranty covers defective parts on both machines. We troubleshoot problems over the phone, then ship replacement parts free of charge including shipping. The warranty does not cover labor, wear items like plastic pads and tooling, or accessories like the wheel weight hammer and safety hood cover.

Does the wheel balancer have automatic data entry?

No, the NTB-550 does not have automatic data entry. You will manually enter wheel dimensions using the rim caliper included with the machine. The display can show measurements in either standard or metric units.

How long does shipping take?

LTL freight shipping typically takes 3 to 14 days depending on your location. Once your order ships, we will email you the carrier information and tracking number. You are then responsible for calling the carrier to schedule a delivery appointment.

Are protective wheel accessories included?

Yes, the tire changer includes both plastic and steel mount/demount heads so you can choose the appropriate head for each wheel type. Plastic wheel clamp covers are also included to protect alloy and chrome wheels from scratches during clamping.
