Triumph NTC-950 and NTB-550 Combo Features

Jet Blast Inflation System

The NTC-950 tire changer includes Triumph's Jet Blast Inflation System, which delivers a burst of compressed air to seat stubborn beads quickly. This feature is especially useful when mounting low-profile tires or working with stiff sidewalls that resist seating with standard inflation alone. The system operates at up to 120 PSI for reliable performance.

Powerful Bead Breaker

Breaking beads on seized or corroded wheels requires serious force, and the NTC-950 delivers with 5,500 lb of bead breaker force. This pneumatic system handles stubborn tires without damaging wheels, making quick work of even the most difficult tire removals you'll encounter in daily shop operations.

Wide Wheel Compatibility

The tire changer accommodates a broad range of wheel sizes with inside clamping from 16 to 28 in and outside clamping from 13 to 26 in. Maximum wheel width is 15 in with tire diameters up to 43 in. The wheel balancer handles even more, accepting wheels from 10 to 28 in with rim widths from 1.5 to 20 in and tire diameters up to 44 in.

Precision Balancing

The NTB-550 wheel balancer delivers accuracy within +/-1 gram, ensuring smooth rides for your customers. Cycle time runs just 6 to 9 seconds per wheel, helping you move vehicles through the shop efficiently. The display shows results in either standard or metric measurements based on your preference.

Foot Pedal Wheel Brake

The wheel balancer features a foot pedal brake that holds the wheel steady while you place weights. This hands-free design improves accuracy by preventing the wheel from shifting during weight application and lets you work more efficiently without needing to manually hold wheels in position.

Dual Demount Heads

The NTC-950 comes with both metal and plastic demount heads, giving you options based on the wheel type you're servicing. Use the plastic head for alloy and custom wheels that scratch easily, and switch to the metal head for steel wheels where durability matters more than cosmetic protection.

Standard 110V Operation

Both machines in this combo run on standard 110V single-phase power, eliminating the need for costly three-phase electrical installations. The tire changer uses a 1.5 HP motor while the balancer runs a 1/4 HP motor, keeping power demands reasonable for shops with standard electrical service.

Complete Accessory Package

This combo ships with everything you need to start servicing tires immediately. The tire changer includes plastic wheel clamp covers, a tire iron, and lube bucket with brush. The wheel balancer comes with a plastic safety hood, quick release wing nut, cone adapters, wheel weight hammer, and rim caliper.

Triumph NTC-950 and NTB-550 Combo FAQ

What is the maximum wheel size this combo can handle?

The NTC-950 tire changer handles wheels up to 26 in with outside clamping and 28 in with inside clamping. Maximum wheel width is 15 in and maximum tire diameter is 43 in. The NTB-550 wheel balancer accepts wheels from 10 to 28 in diameter with rim widths from 1.5 to 20 in and tire diameters up to 44 in.

Will this combo work for light trucks and SUVs?

Yes, this combo is designed for cars and light trucks. The generous clamping range and 43 to 44 in maximum tire diameter capacity handles most passenger vehicles, crossovers, and light trucks with standard wheel sizes. For larger commercial truck tires, you would need heavy-duty equipment designed for that application.

What electrical requirements do these machines have?

Both machines run on standard 110V single-phase power, so no special electrical upgrades are typically needed. The tire changer uses a 1.5 HP motor and the wheel balancer uses a 1/4 HP motor. We recommend dedicated circuits for each machine.

Do I need an air compressor for the tire changer?

Yes, the NTC-950 tire changer requires compressed air to operate. The machine can handle up to 120 PSI. You will need an air compressor with adequate CFM output to power the bead breaker and Jet Blast Inflation System. An air compressor is not included with this combo.

How accurate is the wheel balancer?

The NTB-550 wheel balancer delivers accuracy within +/-1 gram, which is excellent precision for ensuring smooth, vibration-free rides. Each balancing cycle takes just 6 to 9 seconds, allowing efficient throughput in a busy shop environment.

Does the driver bring the equipment inside my shop?

No, the freight driver's responsibility is limited to operating the truck and lowering your equipment to the ground using the lift gate. The driver does not move equipment into your shop or garage and does not perform any assembly. You will need to arrange for moving the equipment from the truck to your workspace.

What does the warranty cover?

Triumph provides a 1 year parts warranty with no labor coverage. If something fails, you call for phone troubleshooting, and they ship replacement parts free of charge including shipping. The warranty excludes wear items like plastic protective pads, tooling components, the tire inflation hose, lube accessories on the tire changer, and the wing nut, hood cover, tray cover, and hammer on the wheel balancer.

How long does shipping take?

Shipping typically takes 3 to 14 days depending on your location. The equipment ships via LTL freight on a semi truck. Once your order ships, you will receive tracking information by email. Remember that you need to contact the carrier directly to schedule your delivery appointment.

Can I pick up the equipment at a freight terminal instead?

Yes, if you prefer, we can ship to the carrier's nearest freight terminal for you to pick up. You would need a trailer or moving van capable of handling the combined shipping weight of approximately 1,025 lb. Contact us before ordering to arrange terminal pickup.

What's included for mounting different wheel types?

The tire changer includes both a metal demount head for steel wheels and a plastic demount head for alloy and custom wheels that scratch easily. Plastic wheel clamp covers are also included to protect wheel finishes during clamping. The wheel balancer comes with cone adapters to center various wheel sizes on the shaft.
