Who It's For

Commercial Fleet Service Centers

If your shop services delivery vans, commercial vehicles, or mixed fleets, the 181" height lets you work on tall cargo vans that won't fit under standard lifts. One lift handles the whole fleet instead of needing dedicated equipment for different vehicle types.

EV Service Shops

Electric vehicles run 20-30% heavier than comparable gas vehicles due to battery packs. The 10APX-181's reinforced structure and 10,000 lb capacity handles Tesla, Ford Lightning, Rivian, and commercial electric vans without concerns about weight limits.

Full-Service Automotive Shops

Dealerships and independent shops that see everything from sedans to lifted trucks benefit from the Bi-Metric arm system. Switch between symmetric positioning for quick services and asymmetric for transmission or drivetrain work without changing hardware.

Features

181" Extended Height

Standard 10,000 lb two-post lifts top out around 140-160". The 10APX-181 adds 20-30" of overhead clearance, so Mercedes Sprinters, Ford Transits, and RAM ProMasters fit with room to spare. Technicians get full undercarriage access without crouching.

ASARS Automatic Arm Restraint

The patented Automatic Swing Arm Restraint System uses forged steel and delivers 2,000+ lb of clamping force with a 360-degree grip. Arms lock automatically when you position them. When pulling engines or transmissions, the arms stay put even as weight distribution shifts.

Bi-Metric Swing Arms

Each triple-telescoping arm extends from 22" to 57". Position the vehicle symmetrically for oil changes and tire rotations, or asymmetrically for better door clearance during interior or drivetrain work. Same hardware, both configurations.

Direct-Drive Hydraulics

Dual hydraulic cylinders connect directly to the carriages with no chains or cables to stretch, adjust, or replace. The lift reaches full height in 45 seconds and operates under 70 dB, quiet enough for conversation in the bay.

EV-Ready Construction

High-tensile steel columns and reinforced bases handle the concentrated weight of battery packs. Lift points accommodate the different weight distribution of EVs compared to ICE vehicles. Your equipment investment stays relevant as more electric vehicles hit the road.

Clearfloor Design

No base plates between the columns. Roll jacks, transmission stands, and tool carts move freely under the vehicle. The adjustable width configuration (135" or 145" overall) fits different bay sizes while maintaining 92-102" drive-through clearance.

Questions About the 10APX-181?

Our team can help with product selection, installation planning, and technical questions.

FAQ

What is the lifting capacity and rise height of the BendPak 10APX-181?

The 10APX-181 has a 10,000 lb lifting capacity with 75.5" of rise. Lifting height is 79.5", or 89" with stackable adapters. This handles everything from compact cars to full-size trucks and high-roof cargo vans.

What ceiling height do I need for the 10APX-181?

You need at least 181" (15' 1") of ceiling clearance for the overhead beam. This is 20-30" taller than standard two-post lifts, so measure your bay carefully before ordering.

What accessories come with the lift?

The lift includes four Bi-Metric swing arms, dual hydraulic cylinders, ASARS safety system, double-telescoping screw pads, column-mounted adapter holder racks, and a padded overhead shutoff bar.

What are the concrete requirements?

Minimum 4.25" thick concrete with 3,000 PSI compressive strength. The slab must cure at least 28 days before installation. Anchors need to be 6" minimum from any edges, cracks, or walls.

Can the 10APX-181 lift electric vehicles?

Yes. The reinforced structure handles EVs that run 20-30% heavier than comparable gas vehicles. Tesla, Ford Lightning, Rivian, and commercial electric vans all fit within the 10,000 lb capacity.

What's the difference between symmetric and asymmetric positioning?

Symmetric places the vehicle centered between the columns. Asymmetric shifts it forward so the doors open past the columns. The Bi-Metric arms let you do either without changing hardware.

How does the ASARS safety system work?

The Automatic Swing Arm Restraint System uses forged steel components to deliver 2,000+ lb of clamping force. Arms lock automatically when positioned under the vehicle. A quick-release lever disengages the grip when you need to reposition.

What electrical connection is required?

220 VAC, 60Hz, single-phase power on a dedicated circuit. Have a licensed electrician run the connection per local codes. The lift operates at under 70 dB.

Will a Sprinter van fit under this lift?

Yes. The 181" overall height specifically accommodates high-roof cargo vans including Mercedes Sprinter, Ford Transit, and RAM ProMaster. Standard lifts at 140-160" cannot clear these vehicles.

What does the warranty cover?

5 years on structural components, 2 years on hydraulics, 1 year on electrical and operating components. The first year also includes labor and free shipping on warranty parts. Register within 30 days to activate coverage.
