BendPak 10AP Two Post Lift
SKU: 5175304
The BendPak 10AP is a 10,000 lb clearfloor two post lift with 145" overall height, the standard-height model in BendPak's AP Series that fits most shops with 12 ft ceilings. The BI-METRIC arm system switches between symmetric and asymmetric configurations without arm swaps, and the patented ASARS provides over 2,000 lb of automatic swing arm restraint force. Dual direct-drive hydraulic cylinders deliver 45-second rise time with no chains or cables to maintain.

Key Features
BI-METRIC Triple-Telescoping Arms
The patented triple-telescoping arm design offers front arm reach from 22" to 47.5" and rear arm reach from 29.5" to 57". The nesting feature allows inner tubes to retract fully through the back of the arm assembly, even beyond the arm pin, for exceptional positioning versatility. BI-METRIC arms support both symmetric and asymmetric lifting configurations with the same hardware. The Low-Pro design achieves a minimum pad height of just 4" for low-profile vehicles and EVs.
Automatic Swing Arm Restraint System (ASARS)
BendPak's patented ASARS generates over 2,000 lb of automatic restraining force through a full 360-degree load-holding grip engineered from heavily forged steel. The system automatically secures swing arms against unplanned movement when lifting vehicles. Unlike traditional restraint systems that can fail when removing heavy drivetrain components, ASARS provides automatic adaptive grip that engages on contact with no manual lock activation required. A quick-release operator lever provides instant pressure release when repositioning.
Dual Direct-Drive Hydraulic System
Two low-pressure Direct-Drive cylinders eliminate lifting chains or screw mechanisms. The HVLP power unit runs on 220 VAC, 60 Hz, 1-phase power and lifts the full 10,000 lb capacity to maximum rise in approximately 45 seconds with operating sound below 70 dB. Industrial-grade hydraulic cylinders feature single-piece, pilot-fitted, machined steel pistons with pressure-loaded U-cup seals. The Dual-Synchro equalization system maintains level lifting throughout the stroke.
Adjustable Width Clearfloor Design
The 10AP mounts in narrow or wide configuration using the expandable top beam. Inside column spacing of 108.5" or 118.5" with drive-thru clearance of 92" or 102". The clearfloor design leaves the floor between columns completely unobstructed for jacks, drains, and equipment. Single-piece columns provide added strength under heavy load conditions, and maintenance-free UHMW polyethylene load bearings never need lubrication.
Safety Lock System
The patented automatic safety lock system ensures lock engagement during all lift rising operations. Safety locks in each column spaced every 3" provide multiple secure stopping positions throughout the lift range with single-point safety release and dead-man style controls. Heavy-duty 1/2" aircraft-quality equalizer cables with oversized cable sheave diameter reduce cable fatigue, and a padded overhead shutoff bar provides automatic upper limit protection.

Installation Requirements
Concrete Foundation
Only install on a flat, level concrete floor. Do not install on asphalt or any other surface. The surface must be level with no more than 3/8" difference over the installation area (less than 3° slope).
- Concrete thickness: 4.25" minimum
- Concrete strength: 3,000 PSI minimum compressive strength
- Curing time: 28 days minimum before installation
- Anchor clearance: More than 6" from cracks, expansion joints, or walls
Not permitted: Installation on cracked or defective concrete, asphalt, or surfaces with slope greater than 3°. Check for post-tension slabs before drilling.
Ceiling Height
Minimum 145" (12.1 ft) clear ceiling height to accommodate the columns. Floor-to-top-switch is 140". Add 6-12" clearance for ductwork, lighting, or other obstructions. The 10AP fits most shops with standard 12 ft ceilings.
Electrical Requirements
220 VAC, 60 Hz, single-phase power on a dedicated circuit. Special voltages available upon request. Licensed electrician required for installation.
Compare BendPak AP Series Models
The 10AP is the standard-height model in BendPak's AP Series. All four models share the same 10,000 lb capacity and BI-METRIC arm system but differ in lift rise and overhead height.
| Model | Overall Height | Lifting Height | Max Lifting Height | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10AP | 145" / 3,683 mm | 73" / 1,854 mm | 82.5" / 2,095 mm | Standard 12 ft ceiling shops |
| 10AP-168 | 168" / 4,267 mm | 73" / 1,854 mm | 82.5" / 2,095 mm | High-roof cargo vans |
| 10APX | 157" / 3,988 mm | 79.5" / 2,019 mm | 89" / 2,261 mm | Taller technicians, more clearance |
| 10APX-181 | 181" / 4,597 mm | 79.5" / 2,019 mm | 89" / 2,261 mm | High-roof vans + max lift height |
Key difference: The 10AP and 10AP-168 share 73" lifting height. The 10APX and 10APX-181 offer 6.5" more rise (79.5"). Choose the standard 10AP if your shop has a 12 ft ceiling and you don't need extra overhead clearance.

Questions About the BendPak 10AP?
Our team can help with lift selection, installation planning, and concrete requirements.
Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between the 10AP and other AP Series models?
The 10AP is the standard-height model at 145" overall height, fitting most 12 ft ceiling shops. The 10AP-168 adds overhead height for high-roof vans (same 73" lift height). The 10APX and 10APX-181 offer 79.5" lifting height for taller technicians or more under-car clearance.
What ceiling height do I need for the 10AP?
Minimum 145" (12.1 ft) clear ceiling height for the columns. Floor-to-top-switch is 140". Add 6-12" clearance for ductwork, lighting, or other obstructions.
How does the BI-METRIC arm system work?
BI-METRIC arms support both symmetric (centerline at column) and asymmetric (centerline behind column) lifting configurations without swapping arms. The triple-telescoping design provides 22-47.5" front arm reach and 29.5-57" rear arm reach. Reposition in about 2 minutes using pull pins and slide adjustments.
Can the 10AP lift electric vehicles?
Yes. The Low-Pro arms achieve a minimum pad height of 4", suitable for low-profile EVs and battery pack designs. BendPak engineered the AP series with heavier electric vehicles in mind, using high tensile-strength steels and arm profiles optimized for outer-positioned EV lifting points.
What are the concrete requirements?
Minimum 4.25" thick concrete with 3,000 PSI compressive strength, cured at least 28 days. Anchor bolts must be more than 6" from cracks, expansion joints, or walls. Floor must be level (less than 3° slope). Do not install on cracked concrete or asphalt.
Can the width be adjusted after installation?
Yes. The expandable top beam accommodates narrow (135") or wide (145") column spacing using positive locking pins at each setting. You can change the width configuration as your shop needs evolve without reinstallation.
What's the warranty coverage?
BendPak's 5-2-1 warranty: 5 years structural, 2 years hydraulics, 1 year operating and electrical components. Requires professional installation per manufacturer specifications and operation within rated 10,000 lb capacity.
