General BendPak FAQs

Do car lifts require maintenance?

BendPak lifts are designed for minimal maintenance. Regular inspections and lubrication are key. Check the owner's manual for your specific model, but typically, monthly inspections of the cables, hydraulic systems, and lubrication points are recommended. This will help ensure optimal performance and longevity.

What are the floor requirements?

A level, structurally sound concrete floor is essential. BendPak recommends a minimum thickness of 4 inches with a PSI rating of 3,000 or greater. The floor should be level within 3 degrees of slope. Proper floor conditions are crucial for the safe and stable operation of your lift.

What's covered under warranty?
BendPak offers a comprehensive warranty for peace of mind. This typically includes: * 5-year structural warranty, * 2-year power unit warranty, * 1-year parts warranty

(Note: Warranty specifics may vary, so always refer to the official warranty documentation for the most accurate information.)

What voltage options are available?

BendPak offers flexibility with voltage options. Most lifts are available in both 110V and 220V configurations to suit your power supply. Be sure to check the specific requirements for the model you're interested in.

Do I need an air compressor?

Yes, an air compressor is necessary for operating the safety lock releases on BendPak four-post lifts. A typical air supply of 30-40 PSI is sufficient.

How do I find a certified installer?

BendPak recommends professional installation for optimal safety and performance. Contact your authorized distributor for a list of certified installers in your area. They can provide expert installation services to ensure your lift is set up correctly.

GP-7LC Specific FAQs

How does the GP-7LC achieve its lifting capability with a single hydraulic cylinder?

The GP-7LC utilizes a single overhead hydraulic cylinder paired with a quadruple lifting cable system. This design allows for efficient lifting while maintaining a compact structure suitable for low-ceiling garages.

Is the GP-7LC suitable for lifting electric vehicles (EVs)?

Yes, the GP-7LC can lift electric vehicles, provided they fall within the 7,000-lb weight capacity. However, it's essential to consult the EV manufacturer's guidelines for proper lifting points and procedures.

What type of maintenance is required for the GP-7LC?

Regular maintenance includes inspecting the lifting cables, hydraulic system, and safety locks for wear and proper function. It's recommended to follow the maintenance schedule outlined in the user manual to ensure optimal performance and safety.

What is the recommended concrete thickness for installing the GP-7LC?

The GP-7LC should be installed on a concrete floor with a minimum thickness of 4.25 inches (108 mm) and a compressive strength of at least 3,000 PSI. The concrete must be fully cured for a minimum of 28 days before installation. Avoid installing the lift on cracked or defective concrete, and ensure that anchor bolts are placed at least 6 inches (152 mm) away from any cracks, expansion seams, or other inconsistencies in the concrete.

Is the GP-7LC ALI certified?

Yes, GP-7LC is certified by the Automotive Lift Institute (ALI) to meet industry safety and performance standard. This certification provides assurance that the lift has been rigorously tested and meet stringent requirements.

WARNING: Use of these products can expose you to chemicals including styrene and vinyl chloride which are on the list of over 900 chemicals identified by the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects or reproductive harm. ALWAYS use this product in accordance with the manufactures instructions. For more information, go to www.p65warnings.ca.gov.
This warning is required by the California Proposition 65 (Prop 65), also called the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act which is meant to notify California residents of exposures to Prop 65 listed chemicals that are known to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. The State of California maintains a list of these chemicals and updates in annually. The Prop 65 list currently contains over 900 chemicals and continues to expand. The law requires companies to provide a warning on their products and/or packaging if they contain these chemicals. Proposition 65 only applies to companies that operate, manufacture or sell products in California, but because our products are sold all over the world we have elected to include Prop 65 warnings on all products we sell to provide consumers with information so that they can make informed decisions about the products they purchase and use. The warning does not mean that the product is in violation of any product safety standard, but that certain chemicals may have been used in the manufacturing or packaging production process, even if these products have been used for many years without documented harm.
