General BendPak FAQs
Do car lifts require maintenance?
BendPak lifts are designed for minimal maintenance. Regular inspections and lubrication are key. Check the owner's manual for your specific model, but typically, monthly inspections of the cables, hydraulic systems, and lubrication points are recommended. This will help ensure optimal performance and longevity.
What are the floor requirements?
A level, structurally sound concrete floor is essential. BendPak recommends a minimum thickness of 4 inches with a PSI rating of 3,000 or greater. The floor should be level within 3 degrees of slope. Proper floor conditions are crucial for the safe and stable operation of your lift.
What's covered under warranty?
BendPak offers a comprehensive warranty for peace of mind. This typically includes: * 5-year structural warranty, * 2-year power unit warranty, * 1-year parts warranty
(Note: Warranty specifics may vary, so always refer to the official warranty documentation for the most accurate information.)
What voltage options are available?
BendPak offers flexibility with voltage options. Most lifts are available in both 110V and 220V configurations to suit your power supply. Be sure to check the specific requirements for the model you're interested in.
Do I need an air compressor?
Yes, an air compressor is necessary for operating the safety lock releases on BendPak four-post lifts. A typical air supply of 30-40 PSI is sufficient.
How do I find a certified installer?
BendPak recommends professional installation for optimal safety and performance. Contact your authorized distributor for a list of certified installers in your area. They can provide expert installation services to ensure your lift is set up correctly.
HD-9SW Specific FAQs
Can I use this lift for vehicles other than cars and trucks?
While designed for cars and trucks, the 9,000-lb capacity and wide platform can accommodate many other types of vehicles, such as small tractors or ATVs, as long as they fall within the weight and dimensional limits of the lift.
How does the lift handle uneven weight distribution?
The HD-9SW features a robust cable system and synchronized locking mechanisms that work together to ensure even lifting and lowering, even with slightly uneven weight distribution. The cable slack detection system also adds an extra layer of safety.
Are there any accessories that can help with organizing tools or parts while working on the lift?
Yes, BendPak offers optional drip trays and solid deck kits that can be used to create a more organized workspace on the lift. These accessories help keep tools and parts within reach and prevent spills from reaching the floor.
Can I move the lift after it's installed?
While the lift is designed for stationary use, its large base plates provide stability, and some users choose not to bolt them down. However, for maximum safety, it is recommended to bolt the lift to a proper concrete floor. Moving the lift after installation should be done with care and proper equipment.
Is the HD-9SW ALI certified?
Yes, HD-9SW is certified by the Automotive Lift Institute (ALI) to meet industry safety and performance standard. This certification provides assurance that the lift has been rigorously tested and meet stringent requirements.
California Prop 65 Warning
WARNING: Use of these products can expose you to chemicals including styrene and vinyl chloride which are on the list of over 900 chemicals identified by the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects or reproductive harm. ALWAYS use this product in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. For more information, go to www.p65warnings.ca.gov.
This warning is required by the California Proposition 65 (Prop 65), also called the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act which is meant to notify California residents of exposures to Prop 65 listed chemicals that are known to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. The State of California maintains a list of these chemicals and updates it annually.
The Prop 65 list currently contains over 900 chemicals and continues to expand. The law requires companies to provide a warning on their products and/or packaging if they contain these chemicals. Proposition 65 only applies to companies that operate, manufacture or sell products in California, but because our products are sold all over the world we have elected to include Prop 65 warnings on all products we sell to provide consumers with information so that they can make informed decisions about the products they purchase and use.
The warning does not mean that the product is in violation of any product safety standard, but that certain chemicals may have been used in the manufacturing or packaging production process, even if these products have been used for many years without documented harm.
