BendPak HD-9SWX 9,000 lb Extended Super-Wide Dual-Platform Four-Post Lift

The BendPak HD-9SWX is the extended-length, high-rise version of the super-wide series. It features 188" runways and 82" of rise for long-wheelbase trucks and taller mechanics who need more headroom. The 192" post-to-post clearance parks two vehicles side by side on the runways with room for two more underneath. Same 9,000 lb capacity as the standard HD-9SW, but with extra dimensions for extended cab trucks and full-size SUVs. ALI certified with a 5-2-1 warranty.

9,000 lb capacity across dual platforms
82" rise for more standing room underneath
188" extended runways for long-wheelbase vehicles
Park 4 vehicles in the space of 2

Who It's For

  • Long-Wheelbase Vehicle Owners: Extended cab trucks, Suburbans, Expeditions, and other long vehicles that don't fit on standard 164" runways. The 188" runways handle wheelbases up to 135" at full capacity.
  • Taller Mechanics: The 82" rise gives you an extra foot of headroom compared to the standard HD-9SW. If you're over 6 feet tall and tired of ducking, this is the model for you.
  • Multi-Car Collectors: Stack four vehicles in a two-car space. The extended runways fit full-size trucks and SUVs alongside sports cars.
  • Professional Shops: Service two vehicles at once on the open-center runways. The extra rise and runway length handle a wider range of customer vehicles.
  • High-Clearance Vehicle Storage: The 82" rise clears lifted trucks and SUVs for underneath parking. The 89" maximum lifting height provides room for taller vehicles on the lower level.

Features

Extended 188" Runways

The HD-9SWX runways are 24" longer than the standard HD-9SW. At 188", they handle vehicles with wheelbases up to 135" at full 9,000 lb capacity, covering most extended cab trucks, crew cab pickups, and full-size SUVs. Wheelbase requirements scale with load: 115" at 75% capacity, 95" at 50%, and 80" at 25%.

82" High Rise

82" maximum rise with 89" maximum lifting height, providing 12" more headroom than the standard HD-9SW. Column height is 102" (8.5 feet). The extra rise makes a real difference if you're tall or working on vehicles for extended periods, and clears taller trucks for underneath parking.

Super-Wide 192" Post-to-Post Clearance

202" overall width with 192" between columns and 178" drive-thru clearance. This dual-platform design parks two vehicles side by side on the runways, then two more underneath. Four vehicles in the space of two is the core capability of the HD-9SWX.

9,000 lb Total Lifting Capacity

9,000 lb total capacity split across the dual platforms, with a maximum of 4,500 lb per side. Four heavy-duty 3/8" stainless steel aircraft cables provide over 640% of the lift's rated capacity. Handles sedans, sports cars, mid-size trucks, and most SUVs.

Open-Center Dual Runways

The runways are completely open-center, turning this parking lift into a dual-purpose service station for accessing the underside of both vehicles simultaneously. Adjustable runway spacing: 34.25" to 41" between runways, 56.25" to 62.75" centerline, 75.25" to 81.75" outside edge.

Cable-Driven Lifting System

Four 3/8" stainless steel aircraft cables, each rated for 14,400 lb, with heavy-duty 1.25" roller axles and oversized self-lubricating cable rollers. All cables are fully enclosed within the columns with dual-hub cable sheaves reducing friction. Internal anti-sway slider blocks keep platforms tracking straight.

17-Position Safety Lock System

17 locking positions every 4" across the 82" rise. Spring-activated automatic safety locks engage simultaneously as the lift rises. Push-button pneumatic release disengages all locks simultaneously. Requires air supply: minimum 30 PSI / 3 CFM. Independent backup slack-cable safety latches provide secondary protection.

Single-Cylinder Hydraulic Design

Single hydraulic cylinder mounted under the runway with integrated electric-hydraulic power unit. 65 seconds to full rise at 45 dB operating noise. Power unit location is customizable during installation and requires no maintenance under normal operating conditions.

Low-Deck Runways

7" minimum runway height with extended approach ramps included. Sports cars and lowered vehicles load without scraping. Rail kit included for optional accessories. Removable approach ramps provide additional drive-under clearance when needed. Comes standard with one pair of aluminum ramps.

Questions About the HD-9SWX?

Extended runway requirements, ceiling height planning, or help choosing between the HD-9SW and HD-9SWX.

FAQ

What is the difference between the HD-9SW and HD-9SWX?

Both are super-wide dual-platform lifts with 192" between columns and 9,000 lb capacity. The HD-9SW has 70" rise and 164" runways. The HD-9SWX has 82" rise and 188" runways. Choose the SWX if you need more headroom, longer runways for extended-wheelbase vehicles, or both.

How many vehicles can this lift hold?

The HD-9SWX can hold up to four vehicles: two on the elevated runways side by side, and two parked underneath. This requires vehicles fit within the dimensional limits: 178" drive-thru clearance width, 188" runway length, and 89" maximum lifting height for lower-level vehicles.

What ceiling height do I need?

Column height is 102" (8.5 ft). For full functionality with vehicles elevated to maximum height (89"), plan for 12-14 ft minimum ceiling height depending on vehicle height.

How long and wide does my garage need to be?

The HD-9SWX requires 242.5" (approximately 20 feet) of length with ramps and 202" (approximately 17 feet) of width plus working clearance on the sides.

What vehicles fit on the extended runways?

The 188" runways handle vehicles with wheelbases up to 135" at full capacity. This covers most extended cab trucks, crew cab pickups like the Ford F-150 SuperCrew, Chevy Silverado Crew Cab, and RAM 1500 Quad Cab, as well as full-size SUVs like the Suburban, Expedition, and Tahoe.

Do I need an air compressor?

Yes. An air compressor is required to operate the pneumatic safety lock release. Specification: minimum 30 PSI / 3 CFM.

Can I use this lift for service work?

Yes. The open-center runways allow you to work on both vehicles simultaneously for oil changes, exhaust work, suspension, and other maintenance. Optional 4,500 lb air/hydraulic rolling jacks and drip trays enhance service capability.

Is the HD-9SWX ALI certified?

Yes. The HD-9SWX is certified by the Automotive Lift Institute (ALI) to meet ANSI/ALI ALCTV standards. Verify current status at autolift.org.

What are the concrete requirements?

Minimum 4" thick concrete slab with 3,000 PSI compressive strength. The floor must be level within 3 degrees of slope. Do not anchor into cracked concrete, expansion joints, or patched areas.

How long does it take to reach full rise?

65 seconds to full rise, about 10 seconds longer than the standard HD-9SW because the HD-9SWX travels an additional 12" (82" total rise vs 70").

What maintenance does the HD-9SWX require?

Regular maintenance includes visual inspection of cables for fraying or wear, lubrication of moving parts per the manual, checking hydraulic fluid levels, and testing safety lock operation. The power unit requires no maintenance under normal operating conditions.

How heavy is the shipping crate?

Shipping weight is 3,038 lb with dimensions of 205" x 22" x 51". You will need a forklift or equivalent equipment to unload.
