Features

Air operated bead assist

The assist arm lifts and presses the bead during mounting and demounting, giving the operator a powered way to work a stiff sidewall.

Rubber shoes at the rim clamps

Rubber shoes come with the rim clamps to protect chrome rims where the jaws grip.

The wheel centers as it clamps

A self-centering device locates the wheel as the clamps close, providing precise wheel positioning before work at the mount head.

Bead seating and inflation

An oversized air blaster sends air to the bead for quick seating, and the inflating device is adjustable.

Pneumatic bead breaker

The breaker separates tire from rim with 2.75 tons of force before the wheel moves to mounting and demounting work.

Prepared air for powered functions

The lubricator, filter, water trap and regulator manage oil, moisture and pressure in the shop-air supply used by the machine's pneumatic functions. Check the lubricator oil level every 30 days.

Installation Requirements

Keep the working width clear

The TC-890 needs 82 in of width, 48 in of depth and 76 in of height. A wall, lift column or balancer beside it reduces the width available to the machine.

Electrical supply for the changer

Power the TC-890's 1.5 HP motor with 120V, 20 A, single-phase, 60 Hz service from a fused, grounded supply.

Air pressure at the machine

Supply 120 to 145 psi at the TC-890. Its air-operated bead assist depends on that shop-air connection.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the Daytona TC-890 clamp a 12-inch rim?
No. A 12-inch rim is below both TC-890 clamping ranges: 13 to 26 inches for inside clamping and 13 to 28 inches for outside clamping.
Will the Daytona TC-890 handle low-profile tires without damaging the rim?
Yes, the TC-890 is designed to handle stiff, wide and low-profile tires without damaging the rim.
Is the Daytona TC-890 assist arm included or sold separately?
It is part of the TC-890. Air-operated bead lifting and pressing are standard functions of this machine, so the assist arm is not a separate attachment to add for this work.
When would the TC-890T fit better than the Daytona TC-890?
Choose the TC-890T if its tilting-column workflow or 42-inch tire limit matters more than the TC-890's 15-inch wheel-width limit. The TC-890T's wheel-width limit is 14 inches; the TC-890 reaches 40-inch tires.
What turntable upkeep does the Daytona TC-890 require?
Clean the turntable with diesel and lubricate the clamping-jaw guide rail weekly. After the first 20 days of use, retighten the jaw screws; if the turntable lacks driving force, check drive belt tension.
