Features

The swing arm head is set by hand

Position the mount/demount head at the rim with the hand wheel, then turn the lock handle. The head shifts about 2 mm up and right as it locks, leaving working clearance at the rim.

Side bead breaker before clamping

The blade separates the bead while the wheel is beside the cabinet, before the rim moves onto the turntable. Keep the turntable jaws fully closed while breaking beads, and repeat the blade stroke at other points around the tire until both beads are free.

Bead seating air from the clamps

Jets built into the clamping jaws direct air at the tire bead during inflation.

Pedal controlled pneumatic clamps

Four double-acting cylinders move the jaws. One press on the clamp pedal opens them; another closes them around the rim.

Air preparation serves the pneumatic controls

A water separator, lubricator and pressure regulator condition the incoming shop air for the clamps and bead breaker. The lubricator feed can be set to about one oil drop for every 3 to 4 clamp pedal presses.

Turntable reversal for a stuck bead

Press the rotation pedal down for clockwise mounting or demounting. If a demount jams, stop the operation and lift the pedal to turn the table counterclockwise and free it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the Daytona TC-880 clamp both 10-inch and 23-inch rims?
Yes, but they use different clamping positions. Outside clamping covers 10 to 22 inch rims; inside clamping covers 12 to 23 inches.
Is the Daytona TC-880 a manual tire changer?
No. The TC-880 is a pneumatic tire changer with electric turntable drive. Shop air at 120 to 145 psi works its four rim clamps and side bead breaker, while a 120V, 1.5 HP motor turns the table. Only the mount/demount tool is operated by hand.
Can the Daytona TC-880 handle my 14-inch-wide wheel?
A 14-inch-wide wheel exceeds the TC-880's 13-inch limit. The TC-890 handles widths through 15 inches; the TC-890T stops at 14 inches.
What must be assembled before the Daytona TC-880 is used?
The column assembly bolts to the body at 70 N.m, and the bead breaker arm fits its bracket. The air regulator is fitted to the right side of the cabinet before the shop air connection is put into service.
How high can tire pressure go on the Daytona TC-880?
Do not exceed 3.5 bar (51 psi) while inflating on the machine. If the tire needs a higher pressure, remove it from the turntable and use an inflation cage. Stay within the tire's specified pressure limit.
