Features

The wand enters distance and diameter

Pull the retractable acquisition wand to the rim and those two measurements enter automatically. Rim width still comes from its marking or a gauge and is keyed in by hand.

Laser guidance at the weight point

The laser and internal light indicate the unbalance location. With LAS enabled in an ALU Smart program, the laser marks the 6 o'clock placement for the weight.

Choose the alloy balancing planes

ALS1 allows the outside weight plane to move from its fixed position; ALS2 allows both planes to be selected. Those two ALU Smart choices help with alloy rim sections that do not suit fixed weight positions.

Hold the wheel with a foot pedal

The foot pedal brake secures the wheel at the indicated correction position while a weight is placed. A Speed-Nut quick mount holds the wheel on the spindle during the balancing routine.

Hide a weight or match the tire

The hidden weight program splits one outside correction behind spokes. Once static imbalance reaches 12 g, valve marks guide tire rotation through the tire matching program to reduce the correction weight.

Fourteen pockets for weights and tools

The wheel weight shelf has 14 articulated pockets, each over 1.5 inches deep. Those pockets provide ample storage for wheel weights and tooling.

Best For

Commercial tire shops
A commercial tire shop moving through car and SUV wheels can pair the short spin cycle with wand entry and laser guidance at the correction point.
Dealership service centers
A dealership balancing car and SUV alloy wheels can select the wheel type, place ALU Smart planes for the rim, and locate corrections with the laser.
Fleet maintenance facilities
For fleet SUV wheel work, the machine's size limit guides fit, while standby retains wheel data during pauses and the weight shelf keeps correction weights close.

Installation Requirements

120V supply for a 5 A balancer

The BL-956 uses 120V, single phase, 60 Hz power and has a 5 A, 1/6 HP rating.

Guard travel and wheel access

The BL-956 space requirement spans 54 inches in width and 44 inches in depth, with a height of 58 inches. Leave clearance around the balancer for loading wheels and opening the guard fully.

Stable indoor floor contact

Set the balancer indoors where it rests firmly on the floor. An unsteady base can cause unstable readings.

Warranty

Daytona 5 2 1 Limited Warranty

Coverage starts on the date of the purchase invoice: 5 years on structural components, 2 years on power units, cylinders, and seal kits, and 1 year on all other defective parts. Daytona replaces parts that prove defective on inspection and pays the freight on covered replacement parts shipped within the continental US.

Conditions

Coverage applies to the original owner and is not transferable. Equipment must be installed and used indoors and maintained as its manual directs. Wear parts such as cables, hoses, slider blocks, chains, and rubber pads are excluded, as are labor, service calls, normal maintenance, cosmetic blemishes, and damage from improper installation, overloading, or modification.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the Daytona BL-956 balance truck wheels?
No. Its SUV mode is for off-road wheels whose tires are tall relative to their rims. Truck wheels are outside that setting because their rims differ significantly.
What must a motorcycle wheel use on the Daytona BL-956?
It mounts on a special motorcycle flange and needs an extension for the distance sensor; neither is among the included accessories. The motorcycle wheel type also needs its separate calibration before the machine will run it.
What if the acquisition wand has a fault on the Daytona BL-956?
The acquisition system can be switched off temporarily if it reports a startup fault while the wand is at rest. The operator then enters wheel dimensions by hand to continue balancing. Switching the balancer off and on brings the fault display back, so the bypass is temporary.
Can settings change after a spin on the Daytona BL-956?
Yes. Program type, wheel type, dimensions, dynamic or static display, and display resolution can be changed after a spin. The machine recalculates and shows revised imbalance values, so a technician can correct an entered dimension without repeating the measurement spin.
Can the Daytona BL-956 display corrections in ounces?
Yes. Choose ounces in SERVICE mode with the P4 key. The default X5 view advances by 0.25 oz; switch to X1 for 0.1 oz increments when a finer reading is needed. In grams, those modes advance by 5 g and 1 g, respectively.
What happens when the Daytona BL-956 sits idle?
After 5 minutes of inactivity, it enters standby while retaining the acquired data and settings. Pressing any key other than the F key wakes the controls, so the next wheel can be handled without resetting the prior selections.
