Foot Pedal Wheel Brake

A foot pedal locks the wheel in position while you attach weights. That hands-free hold matters more than it sounds: a wheel that creeps off the marked position while you reach for a weight is the usual way a balance job gets done twice. Press to lock, place the weight, release and respin to verify.

Static and Dynamic Modes

Dynamic mode measures imbalance on both inner and outer planes; static mode covers wheels where weight placement options are limited. Between the two, the NTB-550 handles standard clip-on work and the awkward cases.

Self-Calibration

Calibration is a routine you run yourself, keeping the ±1g accuracy honest as conditions and wear drift. No technician visit and no downtime waiting on one.

Reads in Grams or Ounces

The display switches between grams and ounces for weights, and between millimeters and inches for dimension input. Handy when the service data you are following and the weights on your shelf disagree about units.

10 to 28 in Wheel Range

Rim diameters from 10 to 28 in, rim widths from 1.5 to 20 in, tires to 44 in, assemblies to 150 lb. That spans small vintage wheels through modern light truck and SUV fitments on one 36 mm shaft.

6 to 9 Second Cycle

Spin-up, measurement, and readout finish in 6 to 9 seconds. Manual data entry is the slow step on this machine; the measurement itself will not hold up a set of four.

Alloy-Ready Mounting

The included cone set and speed nut mount steel and alloy wheels securely without chewing up the finish.

Installation Requirements

Floor and Space

Set it on level concrete and allow room around the 28 x 47 in footprint to swing wheels on and off the shaft. Bolting to the floor is recommended.

Electrical

110V standard outlet for the 1/4 HP motor. A dedicated circuit is recommended so other equipment does not interfere with readings.

Assembly

Some assembly is required on delivery, using basic hand tools; most owners finish in under an hour.

Shipping & Delivery

Freight shipping within the lower 48 states; the delivery charge for your address is shown at checkout.

You are responsible for unloading. Lifts and large machines require a forklift, tractor, or other heavy machinery; liftgate service is not available for them and the driver does not assist. If unloading isn't possible at your location, choose a warehouse pickup option where offered.

Inspect your order before signing the Bill of Lading. Note visible freight damage or shortages on the delivery receipt at delivery, and report a missing power unit or motor at delivery. Other missing or incorrect equipment must be reported within 14 days.

Warranty

Triumph equipment is covered by the manufacturer's 1 year parts warranty; labor is not covered. Support is handled by phone: we troubleshoot the issue with you, then ship the needed replacement part at no cost, with ground shipping on warranty parts covered by Garage Supply Guys.

Hydraulic cylinders carry a 30 day full warranty; after 30 days, a seal kit and instructions are provided. Rubber lifting pads are wear items and are not covered.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size wheels can the NTB-550 balance?
10 to 28 in rim diameter, 1.5 to 20 in rim width, up to 44 in tire diameter and 150 lb assembly weight. That covers most passenger car, light truck, and SUV wheels.
Does it have automatic data entry?
No. You measure and enter wheel parameters manually. That is the main tradeoff against higher-priced balancers, and it is the right one if you balance sets occasionally rather than all day.
Can it handle alloy wheels?
Yes. The included cone set and speed nut mount alloys securely without damaging the finish.
How does it stay accurate?
Rated accuracy is ±1g. A built-in self-calibration routine, run periodically by the owner, maintains it without a service call.
What power does it need?
A standard 110V outlet drives the 1/4 HP motor. A dedicated circuit is recommended.
How much space does it take?
Assembled dimensions are 28 x 47 x 56 in (W x D x H). Leave working room around it for maneuvering wheels on and off the shaft, and plan on a level concrete floor.
