Most garages don't have enough floor space. The Stratus SAE-P48C G3 four-post parking car lift with castors solves that problem without asking you to tear anything down. At 8,000 lbs of rated capacity, it handles everything from daily drivers to weekend project cars - and because the whole unit rolls on a castor kit, you can reposition it whenever your layout changes.
This is the third generation of the compact Stratus parking lift, and the refinements show. Nine locking positions give you real flexibility on working height. The hands-free lock release latch system means you're not fumbling with manual catches every time you lower a vehicle. And the cable failure protection adds a second automatic safety device that engages the moment your primary safety locks are out of position - not something you'd expect on a storage lift, but it's there.
The power unit is relocatable, so you're not locked into one cord-routing path across your shop floor. Finish is powder-coated Granite Gray (RAL 7026) with Rein Orange (RAL 2004) accents - it looks like a piece of equipment, not an afterthought. Every unit is proofed by dynamic test at 115% of rated capacity and static test at 150%, so the 8,000 lb rating isn't a theoretical number.

Does the SAE-P48C require any concrete anchoring or floor bolting?
No. The SAE-P48C is a free-standing parking lift that does not require floor anchoring. The included castor kit lets you roll the unit into position and reposition it as needed. This makes it a practical option for renters or anyone who doesn't want to modify their floor slab.
What electrical supply does this lift need?
The SAE-P48C runs on a 110V, 60 Hz, single-phase circuit. You'll need a dedicated 30A breaker. The motor is 3 HP. Most residential and commercial garages can support this without a panel upgrade, but confirm your available breaker capacity before ordering.
What's the maximum ceiling height this lift requires?
The overall height of the unit is 97-1/2 in (2,476 mm). That's the column height. The maximum lifting height is 86-5/8 in (2,200 mm), and the clearance height - the usable space under the raised platform - is 81-1/16 in (2,059 mm). You'll want to confirm your ceiling height against the overall unit height before ordering, especially if you plan to raise vehicles to full height.
How long does it take to raise a vehicle?
Lifting time is 50 seconds from lowest to full height. The nine locking positions let you stop at any intermediate height, and the hands-free lock release latch system means you don't need to manually set individual catches during descent.
Can I do oil changes or undercar work on this lift?
The SAE-P48C is primarily a storage and parking lift, not a full-service lift. For basic undercar access, the optional BJ5 rolling bridge jack (sold separately) fits the runway tray and lets you raise the axle for tire swaps and simple inspections. For heavy repair work, a two-post or four-post service lift is the right tool.
What is the weight capacity, and does it cover trucks and SUVs?
Rated capacity is 8,000 lbs. Every unit is proof-tested at 115% of rated capacity dynamically and 150% statically. Most full-size trucks and SUVs fall under 6,500 lbs GVWR, so the 8,000 lb rating covers the majority of consumer vehicles. Confirm your vehicle's GVWR against the 8,000 lb limit before use.
Does this lift ship with ramps, and what's the overall length with and without them?
Aluminum ramps are an optional add-on sold separately. Without ramps, overall length is 169-1/2 in (4,306 mm). With ramps installed, it extends to 207 in (5,257.5 mm). Plan your bay depth around both measurements depending on whether you're ordering ramps.
