The Rotary 12K Lift That Handles Everything in Your Bay

If your shop services more than sedans, the SPO12-AV rotary 12k lift is the two-post you've been waiting for. Rotary's SPO series has long been the standard for shops that need real capacity without compromise, and the AV model pushes it further with redesigned AV Arms that reach farther, retract tighter, and give you cleaner access to whatever's on the rack. Trucks, vans, SUVs, unibody cars, EVs, you name it. If it fits within the 12,000 lb. rating and clears the columns, it goes up clean.

The broader column base on this version isn't cosmetic. It grounds the lift more securely, which matters when you're regularly working under heavy full-size trucks or loaded crossovers. Those AV Arms stretch from 27-3/8 inches minimum out to 59-1/8 inches, giving you the range to find solid contact on vehicles that usually give shops trouble. EV battery access, long-wheelbase vans, truck frames, all of it becomes approachable instead of awkward.

Rotary's optional ShockWave system is worth a serious look if throughput is a priority in your operation. DC battery power combined with Spotline arm guidance cuts your lift cycle time roughly in half compared to a conventional hydraulic setup. More vehicles through the bay per shift is real money. And the Double-S column design isn't just a Rotary trademark, it's a structural approach that keeps your carriage running smooth and true through years of hard daily use.

Installation & Setup Requirements

Electrical

The SPO12-AV requires a 2 HP motor wired at 208-230V single phase. Get your electrician involved before the lift arrives so the circuit is ready on install day. A missing or incorrect circuit is one of the most common causes of delayed first-lifts.

Bay and Ceiling Clearance

Minimum bay footprint is 12 by 26 feet. Ceiling clearance depends on the column configuration you select: the standard height requires at least 13 feet 9 inches, while the low version needs 11 feet 10-3/4 inches. The base required ceiling height at the column itself is 102-3/8 inches. Measure your bay carefully before ordering. If you're on the line between configurations, call us at (855) 498-2147 and we'll help you work through it.

Concrete and Anchoring

A 12,000 lb. two-post lift demands a solid concrete slab. Anchor bolt placement and slab thickness must meet Rotary's installation specifications. Using a Rotary Solutions Authorized Installer (RSAI) is required to qualify for the second-year functional parts warranty coverage, so it's worth more than just the workmanship.

Rotary Two-Post Lift - Who It's For and Why

Full-Size Trucks and Vans

True symmetric lifting centers the vehicle's weight directly between the columns for a balanced, stable rise. You get clean clearance in front of the posts to open truck and van doors without dancing around the structure. This lift was designed around these vehicles, not adapted for them after the fact.

Electric Vehicles

EV platforms carry battery weight low and in positions that catch standard arms off guard. The AV Arms give you the reach and retraction to find solid contact points without putting stress on the battery enclosure or undercarriage hardware. Capacity and arm range handle the rest.

Unibody Cars and Crossovers

Unibody vehicles are punishing of sloppy arm placement. The extended reach and fine retraction control of the AV Arms let you dial in adapter position precisely, so you're lifting on the right spot every time, not guessing and hoping.

High-Volume General Service

Busy shops doing back-to-back oil changes, brake jobs, and inspections all day will feel the difference when the optional ShockWave system is in play. DC battery power and Spotline guidance cut setup and cycle time sharply. That time compounds across a full day of bays running at capacity.

Shipping

Warranty

Rotary two-post lifts carry a 5-year structural parts warranty covering components such as columns, carriages, arms, and yokes. Functional parts, including power units, cylinders, latches, adapters, and controls, are covered for 1 year standard. A second year of functional parts coverage is available when the lift is installed by a Rotary Solutions Authorized Installer (RSAI) and the equipment is registered with Rotary. Registration is required for full warranty eligibility.

Replacement parts carry a 90-day warranty. Wear items including cables, sheaves, adapter pads, and lights are excluded from coverage. Optional extended functional parts warranty coverage is available for purchase at the point of sale or within the first year of installation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the SPO12-AV work with electric vehicles?

Yes. The AV Arms provide the reach and retraction range to find proper contact points on EV platforms, including vehicles with floor-mounted battery packs. Any vehicle within the 12,000 lb. rated capacity and within the lift's clearance envelope can be raised safely.

What ceiling height does my shop need for this lift?

It depends on which column height you choose. The standard configuration requires a minimum ceiling height of 13 feet 9 inches. The low version needs at least 11 feet 10-3/4 inches. The base required ceiling height at the column footprint is 102-3/8 inches. Measure your bay before ordering, and call us at (855) 498-2147 if you need help choosing the right configuration for your space.

Is professional installation required?

Professional installation is strongly recommended, and Rotary Solutions Authorized Installer (RSAI) installation is required to qualify for the second-year functional parts warranty. A 12,000 lb. lift needs correct anchor bolt placement and adequate slab thickness to operate safely. Using a certified installer protects both the investment and your full warranty coverage.

What electrical supply does the SPO12-AV require?

The lift runs on a 2 HP motor at 208-230V single phase. Confirm that your bay has the correct circuit in place before installation day. Getting your electrician involved early avoids delays once the lift arrives.
