Heavy truck wheels belong on a lift, not in a wrestling match. The Hofmann Geodyna 980L is an off-the-vehicle wheel balancer for truck, light-truck, and passenger-car wheels within its published limits. This EEWB710BW configuration includes the heavy-duty wheel lift, so assemblies can be raised and positioned at the clamping adaptor.
The balancer accepts wheel assemblies up to 550 lb and 51 in in diameter. The current sell sheet publishes semi-automatic rim-data ranges for diameter and width. A raised digital LED display keeps the readings and controls together, and Split Weight Mode can place the right-plane correction behind spokes when its operating conditions are met.
Plan the bay before it arrives. This configuration uses 115V single-phase, 60 Hz power, and the included pneumatic lift needs an 8 bar service pressure. The machine must sit directly on a level, even floor that can support its weight without transmitting vibration.

Included Pneumatic Wheel Lift
The current EEWB710BW package includes Hofmann's heavy-duty wheel lift. The geodyna 980L loading device is pneumatic and positions wheels weighing up to 250 kg at the clamping adaptor. It requires 8 bar service pressure, with line pressure of at least 8 bar and never more than 15 bar.
Semi-Automatic Rim Data Entry
The current sell sheet publishes a semi-automatic rim-diameter range of 8-26 in and a semi-automatic rim-width range of 2-20 in. Touch the gauge arm to the rim and the system enters rim dimensions and selects the corresponding weight-balancing mode.
Truck, Light-Truck, and Car Modes
The operating panel switches among truck, light-truck, and car settings. Dynamic and static balancing are supported, with Normal, ALU, and hidden-weight functions available according to the selected vehicle and weight mode.
Split Weight Placement Behind Spokes
Split Weight Mode divides a right-plane correction into two weights behind the nearest spokes. It is available after a hidden-weight-mode balance when the right-plane imbalance is at least 10 g, with a maximum enclosed angle of 120 degrees.
Raised Digital LED Display
The raised monitor combines the digital LED display and control panel. Direction indicators guide hand rotation after a run, and the weight-application-position indicator marks the correction location for the selected plane.
Low-Speed Measuring Cycle
The balancer measures at less than 100 rpm, with a published measuring time of less than 20 seconds. After the run, the brake stops the wheel at the left-plane weight position and the display shows the required correction.
Best For
Use the geodyna 980L for off-the-vehicle dynamic or static balancing of truck and light-truck wheels that stay within the 550 lb wheel-weight limit, 51 in maximum wheel diameter, and the applicable rim ranges.
The machine also supports passenger-car wheel balancing and the current package includes a Passenger Car Kit. The exact-model parts list documents passenger-car cone ranges of 42-77 mm, 72-99 mm, and 96-116 mm. Match the wheel's center bore to the correct clamping component before use.

Installation Requirements
Provide 115V Single-Phase Power
The current EEWB710BW configuration requires 115V single-phase, 60 Hz electrical service. Provide an approved wall outlet and compare the installation location with this requirement before delivery.
Provide Shop Air for the Included Lift
The pneumatic loading device operates at 8 bar service pressure. Supply pressure must be at least 8 bar and must never exceed 15 bar. The integrated pressure reducer is factory-set to 8 bar and is not customer-adjustable.
Set the Balancer Directly on a Stable Floor
The floor must be horizontal within 2 degrees, even within 2 mm, able to carry the balancer, and isolated from transmitted vibration. Position the machine directly on the floor without spacers. When those conditions are met, the manufacturer states that floor fixing is not required.
Plan for Pallet Receiving and Final Setup
The balancer is supplied on a pallet and the manual directs the receiver to use a pallet truck. After assembly and utility connections, the installation procedure includes user calibration and a test balance to less than 5 g per plane.
