Surface mount installation positions the lift on top of your existing concrete floor and is bolted down with anchors. It requires less installation work, lower cost, and no floor excavation, but the lift remains visible when lowered and reduces floor clearance by 10". Maximum lift height is 72". Flush mount installation requires cutting into your floor, excavating a pit, building reinforced concrete forms with drainage, but the lift retracts below floor level when lowered for maximum usable floor space. Maximum lift height is 63" due to pit depth. Surface mount is preferred for existing shops with established layouts; flush mount is ideal for new construction or major renovations where maximizing floor space is critical.

The Locked and Lighted system (models EELR789APKG and EELR790APKG) includes strategically positioned LED lighting that illuminates alignment adjustment and calibration areas, plus console-controlled locking that allows technicians to activate alignment plate locks directly from the lift console without walking around the vehicle. Front LEDs are mounted in the turnplate base to accommodate varying wheel tracks, while rear LEDs are positioned on slip plates. The lift itself measures 93" wide and 256"-271" long depending on runway extension position. You also need adequate ceiling height: 72" minimum for surface mount at full extension, or 63" for flush mount. Always add extra clearance for overhead lighting, HVAC ducts, ceiling-mounted equipment, tool carts, and alignment machine positioning. This lift requires a dedicated 230V 60Hz single-phase circuit with 20-amp breaker and 2HP (1.5kW) motor installed by a licensed electrician following National Electrical Code. Do not connect to 208V three-phase circuits or undersized service. For compressed air, your shop air system must supply 90-140 PSI at 5-10 CFM for pneumatic safety lock release and locking system operation (Locked and Lighted models). Surface mount requires minimum 4" thick reinforced concrete with 3,000 PSI compressive strength, fully cured for at least 28 days before anchor installation. The foundation must support the lift's 5,863 lb weight plus 14,000 lb vehicle capacity (total 19,863 lb) without settling or cracking. Flush mount requires excavation and pit construction with reinforced concrete, proper drainage system, waterproofing, and pit depth per installation manual specifications. Poor quality concrete or improper curing can lead to anchor failure, lift instability, and serious safety hazards. Professional installation by factory-trained certified technicians is strongly recommended and may be required to maintain full warranty coverage. Installation involves multiple critical steps: anchor placement and drilling with precise spacing, electrical connection by licensed electrician, pneumatic system connection with FRL setup, lift assembly with proper torque specifications, hydraulic system setup and bleeding, load testing to verify capacity, safety inspection of all locking mechanisms, LED lighting setup and calibration (Locked and Lighted models), and comprehensive operator training. Warranty requires professional installation, proper electrical and air connections, suitable concrete foundation, routine maintenance per manufacturer schedule, and operation within rated capacity. Labor costs after the first year are not covered.
