Forward 1000MCLDT 1,000 lb Motorcycle Lift with Drop-Tail Design for Motorcycles, ATVs, and More
The Forward 1000MCLDT is a portable pneumatic motorcycle lift built for home garages and professional shops alike. With a 1,000 lb capacity and a 33" maximum rise, this lift brings your motorcycle, ATV, lawn mower, or golf cart to a comfortable working height. The drop-tail design allows complete removal of the rear panel for full access to wheels and tires. A foot-pedal controlled air valve operates on 90-110 psi compressed air, and the adjustable front wheel vise keeps your bike secure throughout every service. Forward is manufactured by Rotary, the maker of the world's most trusted lift, and is backed by Rotary's warranty and support infrastructure.
Forward 1000MCLDT Features
Removable Drop-Tail Section
The 1000MCLDT features a removable rear panel that lifts out to provide complete access to the back tire or wheel. This drop-tail design makes rear wheel service, tire changes, and chain maintenance significantly easier than working around a fixed platform.
Adjustable Front Wheel Vise
A fully adjustable wheel vise secures the front wheel and prevents movement during lifting and maintenance. The vise clamp accommodates a wide range of wheel sizes, keeping your motorcycle locked in place while you work.
Expandable 48" Platform
Two removable 12" side extensions are included as standard equipment. When installed, these extensions expand the platform from 24" to 48" wide, creating a stable surface for ATVs, lawn mowers, golf carts, and other wide-wheelbase equipment.
Foot-Pedal Pneumatic Operation
The hands-free foot pedal controls the air valve for effortless raising and lowering. Operating on 90-110 psi compressed air, the pneumatic system lifts smoothly while the automatic safety bar engages at each position on the ladder.
33" Maximum Rise
The lift raises your equipment from a lowered height of 7-1/4" to a maximum of 33", bringing your work to a comfortable standing height. Multiple locking positions along the ladder let you choose the optimal height for each task.
Portable and Compact Design
With no fixed bay required, the 1000MCLDT can be used anywhere you have compressed air. The compact footprint measures 93" long without the ramp, making it easy to store when not in use and move around your shop as needed.
Forward 1000MCLDT Applications
- Motorcycles: Service cruisers, sport bikes, touring bikes, and dirt bikes at a comfortable working height with the front wheel locked securely in the vise.

- Lawn Mowers: Perform blade changes, deck maintenance, and undercarriage cleaning on riding mowers without crawling on the ground.
- Golf Carts: Service electric and gas golf carts with full access to wheels, brakes, and undercarriage components.

Forward 1000MCLDT FAQ
What is the lifting capacity of the Forward 1000MCLDT?
The Forward 1000MCLDT has a lifting capacity of 1,000 lb. This capacity should never be exceeded. The lift is designed to handle most motorcycles, ATVs, lawn mowers, and golf carts within this weight limit.
What are the dimensions of the Forward 1000MCLDT?
The lift measures 93" long without the approach ramp and 113" with the ramp installed. The platform width is 24" standard and expands to 48" with the included side extensions. The lowered height is 7-1/4" and the maximum rise is 33".
What air pressure is required to operate the lift?
The 1000MCLDT operates on 90-110 psi compressed air. Do not exceed 100 psi maximum pressure. A standard shop air compressor with adequate capacity will power the foot-pedal operated air valve.
What is the drop-tail feature?
The drop-tail design allows the rear panel of the platform to be completely removed. This provides full access to the back tire, wheel, chain, and sprocket for service without working around a fixed platform edge.
Can the Forward 1000MCLDT lift ATVs and other equipment?
Yes. The lift comes standard with two 12" side extensions that expand the platform from 24" to 48" wide. This wider configuration accommodates ATVs, lawn mowers, golf carts, and other equipment within the 1,000 lb capacity.
How is the motorcycle secured on the lift?
An adjustable front wheel vise locks the front wheel in place during lifting and service. Tie-down eyebolts are also included for securing the vehicle with straps. The wheel vise is for temporary holding only, so straps must be used to fully secure the motorcycle.
Does the Forward 1000MCLDT require floor anchoring?
No. The 1000MCLDT is a portable lift that does not require anchoring to the floor. It can be used anywhere you have compressed air and a level surface. This makes it ideal for home garages, small shops, or situations where a permanent installation is not desired.
What is included with the Forward 1000MCLDT?
The lift includes the main scissor frame assembly, adjustable front wheel vise, wheel stop, two 12" side extensions with approach ramps, center approach ramp, foot-operated air valve with hose, two tie-down eyebolts, and all mounting hardware. An air compressor and tie-down straps are not included.
How much does the Forward 1000MCLDT weigh for shipping?
The packaged lift weighs approximately 700 lb and ships on a skid. A forklift, loading dock, or liftgate service is required for unloading. Two or more people are needed to handle the components during unpacking and final assembly.
What warranty covers the Forward 1000MCLDT?
Forward lifts are manufactured by Rotary and backed by Rotary's warranty and support infrastructure. The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship when the lift is properly installed, operated within capacity, and maintained according to the owner's manual.
How do I maintain the Forward 1000MCLDT?
Monthly maintenance includes lubricating all hinge joints and zerk fittings, and adding air tool oil to the inlet side of the foot-controlled valve. Daily checks should confirm proper operation of the locking latch. Inspect weekly for signs of damage or wear and replace any unreadable safety labels.
What is the operating temperature range?
The Forward 1000MCLDT is designed for indoor use with an operating ambient temperature range of 41°F to 104°F (5°C to 40°C). It is not intended for outdoor use or extreme temperature environments.
