Esco YAK 92002 Features

2-Stage Lifting System - 44/22 Ton Capacity

The YAK delivers massive lifting power through a 2-stage hydraulic system - 44 tons on the first stage and 22 tons on the second stage. This dual-capacity design lets you match the lifting force to the job, providing the versatility to handle everything from loaded semi-trailers to lighter commercial vehicles with a single jack.

Ultra-Low Profile Design

With a minimum height of just 6" (150 mm) and a compact overall length of 27.56", the YAK slides under vehicles with the lowest ground clearance. This makes it the ideal solution for modern heavy vehicles with pneumatic air-ride suspensions where standard jacks simply cannot fit.

Dual Descent Valves for Maximum Safety

Two independent descent valves guarantee perfect holding in all load conditions and provide controlled lowering speed under heavy loads. This redundant safety system ensures the load stays exactly where you put it, giving operators confidence when working around heavy vehicles.

Automatic Piston Retraction

The pistons retract automatically when the lowering function is activated, eliminating the need to manually push the jack down after each lift cycle. This speeds up your workflow and reduces physical strain on technicians during high-volume service days.

Intuitive Controls and Adjustable Handle

Simple up/down function buttons on the control block make operation straightforward for any technician. The 52" handle adjusts position with a simple motion and assembles from three sections for easy storage and transport.

Included Height Extensions with On-Handle Storage

Three extensions (0.5", 2.75", and 4.75") are included to give you variable lift height options for different vehicle types and lifting points. The extensions store directly on the handle so they are always within reach and never misplaced in a busy shop.

Esco YAK 92002 Applications

  • Heavy Truck Shops: Designed to lift loaded semi-trucks, trailers, and heavy commercial vehicles with up to 44 tons of force on the first stage. The low-profile design fits under modern air-ride suspension trucks with minimal ground clearance.
  • Tire Service and Repair: Built for fast, efficient tire changes on heavy vehicles. The compact body, easy-to-use controls, and automatic piston retraction streamline the tire service workflow for high-volume shops.
  • Mobile Service Trucks: The 86 lb weight and three-piece handle make the YAK practical for mobile service operations. Bring professional-grade lifting capacity directly to fleet yards, job sites, and roadside service calls.
  • Bus and Transit Maintenance: The ultra-low 6" minimum height is ideal for buses and transit vehicles with low-clearance air-ride suspensions. Dual descent valves provide the safety margin required in fleet maintenance environments.
  • Bodywork and Specialty Shops: The compact footprint and precise control make this jack well-suited for body shops and specialty repair facilities that service heavy commercial vehicles and need accurate positioning under frame rails and designated lift points.

Esco YAK 92002 Setup Requirements

Compressed Air Supply

Working Pressure: 116 - 145 PSI (8 - 10 bar). The jack requires a compressed air line with a quick coupling and a minimum internal passage of 6 mm. Ensure the air supply hose is not pinched or restricted anywhere along its length.

Air System Preparation

Filtration: Install a filter-dehumidifier-lubricator unit in the compressed air system. Do not introduce hydraulic oil, Vaseline oil, brake fluid, kerosene, or other liquids into the compressed air circuit. Use only manufacturer-approved pneumatic lubricant if lubrication is needed.

Work Surface Requirements

Floor: Always operate on level, even, hard ground. Never lift loads on sloping, uneven, or soft surfaces. Ensure the work area provides adequate clearance around the vehicle and jack for safe operation and emergency egress.

Handle Assembly

The handle ships in three sections and must be assembled before first use using the included dowel and spanner. Refer to the operation manual for assembly diagrams. Extensions should be mounted on the handle storage clips after assembly.

Esco YAK 92002 FAQ

What is the lifting capacity of the Esco YAK 92002?

The YAK 92002 is a 2-stage air/hydraulic jack. The first stage provides 44 tons of lifting capacity, and the second stage provides 22 tons. Each stage delivers 3" of lift for a total stroke of 6" (150 mm).

How low does the Esco YAK jack go?

The minimum height is 6" (150 mm), making it suitable for low-clearance heavy vehicles including those with modern pneumatic air-ride suspensions. The maximum height without extensions is 11.82" (300 mm). With the included extensions, you can add up to 4.75" of additional height.

What air pressure does the YAK 92002 require?

The jack requires a compressed air supply between 116 and 145 PSI (8 to 10 bar). The air supply hose must have a minimum internal passage of 6 mm and should be connected via a quick coupling. A filter-dehumidifier-lubricator unit should be installed in the air system.

How do I assemble the jack for first use?

The handle ships in three pieces and must be assembled using the included dowel and spanner. After handle assembly, connect the jack to your compressed air supply via the quick coupling on the control block. It is recommended to perform several no-load lift cycles before putting the jack into service to become familiar with the controls.

What warranty comes with the Esco YAK 92002?

The jack includes a 3-year extended warranty covering all manufacturing defects. Without extended warranty registration, the standard warranty is 12 months from date of shipment. The warranty does not cover transport costs, improper use, or shipping damage. Esco operates a factory repair facility in Brooksville, Florida with 1-day turnaround service and has 50+ authorized repair centers across the US and Canada.

What comes in the box?

The jack ships with the main body, a 3-piece handle with assembly hardware (dowel and spanner), three height extensions (0.5", 2.75", and 4.75"), the operation and maintenance manual, and a warranty certificate. You will need to supply your own compressed air line, quick coupling, and support stands.

How is the Esco YAK 92002 shipped?

The jack ships free via freight to commercial addresses in the 48 contiguous United States. It is packaged in a three-layer corrugated cardboard box and should be kept upright during transport. Typical lead time is 3-5 business days. Contact our sales team for international shipping quotes.

Can I use this jack with extensions from other manufacturers?

No. Only use the extensions supplied by Esco with this jack. Using third-party or improvised extensions can be extremely dangerous and will void the warranty. Never use more than two extensions stacked at the same time, and always use the circular tooth plate between the extension and the vehicle contact point.

Can I use the Esco YAK as a vehicle support stand?

No. The YAK is a lifting device only, not a supporting device. You must always place the vehicle on appropriate support stands before performing any work underneath it. Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack.

What type of oil does the jack use and how do I check the level?

The jack uses ATF Dexron IID hydraulic fluid with a maximum capacity of 1.2 liters. Check the oil level at least twice per year by first bleeding the air, then loosening the check screw on the tank. If oil does not flow from the check point, the level is too low and must be topped off. Refer to the maintenance section of the operation manual for detailed step-by-step instructions.

How heavy is the Esco YAK 92002?

The jack weighs 86 lb (39 kg). While substantial, the centrally placed wheels provide good balance and ease of movement, making it practical for both fixed shop use and mobile service applications.

Are replacement parts and seal kits available?

Yes. Esco offers individual seal kits for the cylinder (KCYAK214/P), motor pump (KMYAK214/P), and block (KBYAK214/P), as well as a complete seals kit (KXYAK214/P). When ordering spare parts, you will need to provide the lift model, serial number, part code, and desired quantity. Contact us or Esco directly at 1-800-352-9852.
