Coats 70X Tire Changer Robo-Arm Assist Arm

You've got an older 70X series rim clamp tire changer that still earns its keep, but the tough sidewalls are wearing you down. The Coats 5009937 Robo-Arm is the tire changer assist arm that bolts onto your existing machine and takes the fight out of stubborn mounts and demounts. It gives you 28 inches of reach and a redesigned ergonomic handle, so you hold the bead where you need it instead of muscling the tire by hand.

This is the upgrade that turns a manual changer into a press-assisted one. The arm holds the upper bead down through the rotation while you work the lower bead, which means fewer fights with low-profile and run-flat tires and a lot less strain across a full day on the floor. As a Coats tire changer accessory, it's a clean retrofit for the machine you already trust, not a reason to buy a whole new changer.

One important fit note before you order: this Coats 70x-3 rim clamp tire changer w robo-arm kit works with 70X series rim clamp changers, but it is not compatible with the 5030 or 5040 models. If your machine falls in that range, call us first so we get you the right setup. We stock Coats tire changer parts and accessories and back every order with direct phone support, so you're not guessing on fitment alone.

Coats Tire Changer Parts Installation & Setup

This is a retrofit, so plan for shop time on the bench before it earns its keep. Start by clearing the area and disconnecting both air and electrical power, then bleed off any stored air through the inflate valve and confirm zero pressure on the tower gauge before you touch a fitting.

The kit swaps in a 10-1/2 inch long pivot bolt to support the new swing arm assembly, and two of the main joints torque to 240 ft-lbs. They're meant to be very tight while still rotating freely. You'll route the air hose and 1/8 inch nylon control tubing from the robo cylinder to the valve, install the Duckhead bracket on the vertical slide, then reconnect air and cycle the cylinder up and down several times to check operation and confirm no leaks. The included instructions walk every step with parts identification.

Clean, dry shop air matters here. The cylinder and valve components depend on it, and contaminated air is the fastest way to shorten the life of any add on tire changer robo arm.
