COATS Tire Changer and Balancer Combo: 1300 Balancer + RC-55
You're outfitting a service bay and you want both jobs covered without buying from two different sources or hoping the machines play nice together. This COATS tire changer and balancer combo pairs the COATS 1300 wheel balancer with the RC-55 Rim Clamp tire changer, so you mount, demount, and balance under one roof. It's a tire changer and balancer combo built for general service and repair shops that turn wheels all day and can't afford guesswork on either end.
The 1300 balancer reads offset and diameter automatically off the offset arm, then calculates inboard and outboard corrective weights on a single spin. It handles wheels from 8 to 30 inches in diameter and up to 150 pounds, which covers the bulk of passenger and light-truck work. The RC-55 brings the Robo-Arm LR power assist into the mix, the part of this tire changer wheel balancer combo that earns its keep when you're wrestling low-profile and run-flat tires that fight you on the table.
Buy the two as a package and you skip the headache of matching a changer to a balancer after the fact. This is one of the cleaner tire changer and balancer combos for a shop that wants COATS-grade equipment on both stations and one place to call when it's time for parts. That's where we come in: we keep the line moving with replacement parts and direct support, so a worn nylon mount head or a drive belt doesn't sideline your bay.

Installation & Setup
This combo isn't a wheel-it-in-and-plug-it-up setup, and that's by design. The 1300 balancer requires a factory-trained COATS service technician to handle the install, setup, and initial test, because balance accuracy depends on a correct power connection and a level mount. Connecting power improperly can void the warranty, so this step matters.
Plan your space before delivery. The balancer needs a flat, solid floor (concrete preferred) and clearance to raise the hood fully. It sits on three feet with no bolt-down required, but it has to sit level or your readings drift. Give it 5 ft of working room on each side and 6.5 ft of overhead and rear clearance. The balancer runs on 220V single- or three-phase, so have a qualified electrician install the proper receptacle to code.
The RC-55 needs a 5 CFM air source at 150 PSI for the air/electric model and a 15A, 115V or 230V single-phase circuit. Give the operator enough room to work safely around the machine, well-lit and clear of grease and brake-lathe chips. Floor bolting is left to your safety manager's call based on shop conditions and local code.
Applications: Who This Tire Changer and Wheel Balancer Combo Fits
If you turn passenger and light-truck wheels all day, this wheel balancer and tire changer combo keeps mounting and balancing on two dedicated stations instead of one overworked machine.
The Robo-Arm LR assist is what makes the RC-55 worth it when stiff sidewalls and tight beads show up. Less fighting the tire, less operator fatigue across a shift.
Buying the commercial tire changer and balancer combo as a package means one brand, one parts source, and machines meant to share a bay.
Outside clamping on the RC-55 plus the balancer's adhesive-weight and behind-spoke modes let you protect finishes while still getting an accurate balance.
Buy the combo from us and you get one source for both machines plus the wear parts that keep them running, nylon mount heads, drive belts, bead-loosener pads, and cones. Our team knows this equipment and answers fitment and parts questions direct, so a worn part is a quick reorder, not a week of downtime.
Warranty
COATS covers the 1300 wheel balancer for 3 years on parts, with 6 months of labor. The direct-drive motor carries a 10-year warranty (pro-rated after year 5). Coverage on the 1300 also includes 3 years on the inverter, piezos, and printed circuit boards, with 1 year on the touch panel/display and all other parts.
The RC-55 Rim Clamp tire changer is covered for 1 year on parts with 6 months of labor. Tire changer and inflation accessories carry a 1-year warranty with no labor coverage.
Warranties commence on the date of delivery to the first retail buyer or date of first use, whichever is earlier, and apply to defects in materials and workmanship. Wear items (including wheel protectors, boots, nylon mount/demount head, drive belt, and bead-loosener pads) and routine maintenance are not covered. Air-operated components must be supplied with clean, dry air. Warranty registration may be required after purchase. Refer to included documentation for details.

Frequently Asked Questions
What size wheels can the 1300 balancer handle?
The 1300 balances wheels from 8 to 30 inches in diameter and 2 to 20 inches in width, with a maximum tire/wheel weight of 150 pounds and a maximum outside tire diameter up to 44 inches. That range covers most passenger and light-truck work.
Can I install this combo myself?
No. The 1300 balancer requires a factory-trained COATS service technician to perform the install, setup, and initial test. Balance accuracy depends on a correct power connection and a level mount, and an improper power connection can void the warranty.
What electrical and air supply does this combo need?
The 1300 balancer runs on 220V, single- or three-phase, 60 Hz, 20A. The air/electric RC-55 needs a 15A, 115V or 230V single-phase circuit plus a 5 CFM air source at 150 PSI, with operating pressure between 110 and 175 PSI at the machine.
How much floor and overhead space does the balancer need?
Plan for 5 feet of working clearance on each side and 6.5 feet of overhead and rear clearance so the hood can raise fully. The balancer footprint is 60 by 60 inches and it sits level on three feet with no bolt-down required.
Does the RC-55 handle low-profile and run-flat tires?
Yes. The RC-55 includes the Robo-Arm LR power assist, which depresses the sidewall and adds leverage for stiff, low-profile, and run-flat tires. It services single-piece automotive and most light-truck tire/wheel assemblies.
Can it balance alloy and custom wheels without marring them?
Yes. The 1300 supports adhesive-weight (ALUS) and behind-spoke modes for alloy wheels, and uses a protective ring to guard custom finishes. On the RC-55, alloy and custom wheels are clamped from the outside to protect the rim edge.
What's the highest pressure I can safely seat a bead at?
Never exceed 40 PSI to seat beads on the RC-55. The built-in pressure limiter is set at 60 PSI; any inflation beyond 60 PSI must be done in a safety cage with a clip-on chuck and in-line valve.
How does the balancer measure wheel dimensions?
The 1300 has automatic data entry for offset (A) and diameter (D) using the offset arm, with manual backup on all parameters. You pull the arm to the wheel flange, hold for the beep, and it enters the measurements, then calculates inboard and outboard weights on a single spin.
What's covered under warranty?
The 1300 balancer carries 3 years on parts and 6 months labor, with a 10-year direct-drive motor warranty (pro-rated after year 5). The RC-55 tire changer is covered 1 year parts and 6 months labor. Wear items and routine maintenance are excluded.
