Frequently Asked Questions
What Challenger lifts are compatible with the BMC bench mount controls?
The Challenger BMC is compatible with EV1020, EV1220, EW1020, and EW1220 inground lift models. These include standard and wide configurations in both 10,000 lb and 12,000 lb capacities. Configuration codes like EV1020-BMC indicate a lift ordered with bench mount controls included.
What are the electrical requirements for BMC installation?
Installation requires 208-240 VAC, 60Hz, single phase power with a dedicated 30 amp double-pole breaker or time-delay fuse. The electric motor must mount at least 18 inches above the finished floor. All wiring must comply with local electrical codes.
Can I choose lever controls instead of buttons?
Yes. Challenger offers both button-operated and lever-operated bench mount controls at no additional charge. Select the control style that matches your technicians' preferences when ordering. Both versions provide the same raise, lower, and lock release functions.
What air supply specifications does the BMC require?
The BMC requires clean, dry, lubricated, and regulated shop air at 90-120 psi. A Filter/Regulator/Lubricator (FRL) must be installed within 30 feet of the controls. Failure to provide proper air supply voids the pneumatic component warranty.
Will the BMC control box fit my existing workbench?
The BMC is designed to mount on the leading edge of many major workbench brands using a simple two-bolt attachment. The control box measures approximately 11 inches long by 4 inches deep by 2.75 inches tall. Check your workbench edge thickness and clearance before ordering.
