Installation Requirements

Site and Installation Requirements

  • Install indoors only. Verify vertical clearance for the selected standard or 2-foot-extension overhead configuration.
  • Concrete must be at least 4 inches thick, steel reinforced, rated 3,500 psi, cured for 28 days, and free of disqualifying cracks, seams, spalling, or deterioration.
  • Keep anchors at least 8 inches from cracks, slab edges, and expansion joints. Floor level tolerance is 3/8 inch across the installation area.
  • Published electrical requirement is 208-230 V, single phase, 60 Hz, 20A. Provide a dedicated circuit sized from the current wiring diagram and local code.
  • Maintain at least 12 feet to the nearest obstruction on each vehicle-travel side, plus 6 feet to a side obstruction or 7 feet to a wall.
  • Use qualified personnel for installation, adjustment, inspection, and maintenance.

Shipping & Delivery

Standard freight is free to a commercial address in the contiguous lower 48 states. Current checkout charges are $80 for residential delivery and $80 for liftgate service. Published shipment dimensions are 132 x 26 x 34 inches and published weight is 2,045 lb. Confirm package count on the bill of lading. Coverage applies to the original purchaser and is non-transferable. Challenger requires product registration and requires the product to be installed, used, and maintained according to its instructions. Use of unapproved parts or accessories voids the warranty. Normal maintenance and adjustments, normal wear and tear, improper handling or installation, abuse, misuse, negligence, carelessness of operation, and repairs attempted by anyone other than a Challenger-authorized service representative are excluded.
