Challenger EW10-UC-QC Upper Components for EW10 Quick Cycle Overview
Your EW10 cassette, frame, and QuickCycle power unit are in the ground. You need the above-ground hardware to finish the bay, and you want standard pedestal controls without the bench-mount upgrade. The Challenger EW10-UC-QC upper components package delivers the superstructure, 3-stage arms, screw pads, and standard pedestal control hardware for the EW10 wide inground lift. No motor, no power unit included. This is strictly the upper hardware for QuickCycle installations where the below-ground infrastructure and 3HP motor are already in place.
Standard pedestal controls keep the installation straightforward. The control station mounts adjacent to the lift as a standalone unit, so there's no workbench integration or conduit routing to plan around. If your bay layout doesn't call for bench-mount controls, or you prefer keeping controls independent of your work surfaces, the pedestal setup is the simpler path. Pair it with the existing QuickCycle motor and you're getting a 24-second rise time with zero complexity on the control side.
The superstructure and arm assemblies are identical across all EW10 upper component configurations: 3-stage front and rear arms with double-telescoping screw pads, 88 inches of extra-wide drive-through clearance for EV battery service, and 10,000 lb system capacity. ALI/ETL certification applies to the complete assembled system. This is the QuickCycle speed advantage with the most straightforward above-ground setup available.

Installation and Setup
The upper components install onto an existing EW10 cassette, frame, and QuickCycle power unit that's already set in cured concrete. Your below-ground infrastructure needs to be complete before the superstructure goes on.
Standard pedestal controls mount adjacent to the lift as an independent unit, which simplifies the above-ground installation compared to bench-mount configurations that require workbench integration. Plan the pedestal placement for easy technician access without obstructing vehicle entry or exit. The existing QuickCycle power unit requires 208V-230V single-phase power at 60Hz and shop air between 90 and 120 psi. Professional installation by a qualified lift technician is strongly recommended to maintain warranty coverage and ensure ALI/ETL compliance on the assembled system.
Applications
If you purchased the tub, frame, and QuickCycle power unit as the EW10LS-2-QC, this upper components package completes the bay with standard pedestal controls and the full 3-stage arm assembly.
Replacing worn or damaged above-ground components on an existing EW10 QuickCycle installation. You keep your 3HP motor and get fresh arms, pads, and controls without paying for a power unit you already own.
The 24-second QuickCycle rise time keeps vehicles moving through your bay faster, and standard pedestal controls keep the above-ground setup straightforward with no workbench integration required.
The 88-inch drive-through clearance supports EV battery pack removal while maintaining full conventional lift functionality for standard vehicle service.
Model Comparison
Challenger offers upper components packages in multiple control and motor configurations. Here's how the UC options compare:
| Upper Components Package | Controls | Intended Power Unit |
|---|---|---|
| EW10-UC-QC | Standard Pedestal | 3HP QuickCycle |
| EW10-UC-BMC-QC | Bench-Mount (BMC) | 3HP QuickCycle |
| EW10-UC | Standard Pedestal | 2HP Standard |
| EW10-UC-BMC | Bench-Mount (BMC) | 2HP Standard |
All four share the same superstructure, 3-stage arms with 20" to 42" reach, double-telescoping screw pads, and 10,000 lb system capacity. The EW10-UC-QC gives you the QuickCycle speed advantage with the simplest above-ground control layout. If you want the same QC pairing with bench-mount controls integrated into a workbench, the EW10-UC-BMC-QC is the BMC equivalent. Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between upper components and a completion kit?
Upper components include the superstructure, arms, screw pads, and controls, but do not include the power unit or motor. A completion kit bundles the power unit with the upper components. If you already have a 3HP QuickCycle motor installed with your EW10 tub and frame, the EW10-UC-QC upper components package is what you need. If you need the motor too, look at the EW10CK-QC completion kit instead.
What do I need to have installed before adding upper components?
Your EW10 cassette, frame, dual-cylinder assembly, and 3HP QuickCycle power unit must already be set in cured concrete and ready for connection. The upper components mount onto this existing below-ground infrastructure. If you purchased the EW10LS-2-QC, your foundation is already configured for this package.
What's the difference between the EW10-UC-QC and the EW10-UC-BMC-QC?
Both packages include the same superstructure, 3-stage arms, screw pads, and are paired with the 3HP QuickCycle motor for a 24-second rise time. The difference is the control type. The EW10-UC-QC uses standard pedestal controls that mount as a standalone unit. The EW10-UC-BMC-QC includes bench-mount controls that integrate into a workbench for a cleaner bay layout.
Can I upgrade to bench-mount controls later?
Bench-mount controls require workbench integration, conduit routing, and different control hardware than the standard pedestal. If BMC is likely in your future, it's more cost-effective to start with the EW10-UC-BMC-QC package. Contact us to discuss upgrade paths for existing pedestal control installations.
Can I use these upper components with a standard 2HP motor?
The EW10-UC-QC is configured for QuickCycle installations with a 3HP motor. If your below-ground setup uses a standard 2HP motor, the EW10-UC upper components package is the correct match, providing the same standard pedestal controls paired with the standard power configuration. Contact us to confirm compatibility.
What speed of rise will I get with this package?
The upper components pair with the existing QuickCycle 3HP motor to deliver a 24-second rise time, nearly half the 41-second cycle on the standard 2HP motor. The speed is determined by the power unit already installed below ground, not the upper components themselves.
Can this lift handle electric vehicles and EV battery service?
Yes. The EW10's 88-inch drive-through clearance is wide enough to lower EV battery packs while maintaining conventional lift functionality. The optional EV Kit (Part #10900) adds low-profile EV-ready foot pads, universal foot pads, 3-inch and 6-inch adapters, and storage racks for safe EV lifting across multiple platforms.
What arm reach and screw pad range does this package provide?
The 3-stage arms provide a reach of 20 to 42 inches, and the double-telescoping screw pads adjust from 4 inches to 6.125 inches in height. This range covers pick-up points on everything from compact EVs to wide-body luxury vehicles and full-size trucks with a 10,000 lb total system capacity at 2,500 lbs per arm.
How are the upper components shipped and what do I need for unloading?
The package ships via flatbed freight truck. You'll receive a tracking number and schedule a delivery appointment with the carrier. A forklift or equivalent equipment is required for unloading, as standard delivery does not include unloading service. Contact us before ordering if you need liftgate or residential delivery options.
What warranty coverage comes with the EW10 upper components?
Challenger provides a limited warranty to the original purchaser. For inground lifts in the 10K-15K range, typical coverage is 1-year labor, 2-year parts, and 5-year structural. The warranty is non-transferable and requires registration. Claims need the lift's serial number and must go through an authorized service representative.
