Challenger CL10AV3 Two-Post Lift Overview

This is where the CL10AV3 family starts. The Challenger CL10AV3 is a 10,000 lb. capacity Versymmetric two-post lift in its purest form: standard height for a 12' ceiling, 2HP motor, single operator control, and every structural and safety feature Challenger builds into the platform. No dual pendant controls, no QuickCycle motor, no EV package, no height extensions. If your shop has a standard bay and you want the V3 Versymmetric arm system without paying for upgrades you haven't decided you need, this is the lift.

The Versymmetric offset front arms with directSPOT positioning are what define this platform. Symmetric and asymmetric loading in the same bay. You're not dedicating one lift to trucks and another to compact cars. Three-stage front arms reach 20" to 42", three-stage rear arms span 37.625" to 60", and double telescoping screw pads adjust from 3.875" to 6.125" to contact OEM lift points across the vehicle range. The V3 arm system covers sedans, crossovers, SUVs, trucks, and vans from a single set of columns.

The build quality is where Challenger separates this from the budget lifts you'll find online. A 48" elongated carriage design extends lift life under daily cycling. An oversized 5" diameter pulley with heavy-duty 5/16" equalization cable keeps stress off the cable system. Plated arm restraints and arm pins resist corrosion long after cheaper finishes would have given up. Fully gusseted base plates anchor the columns with rigidity that matters when you're cycling the lift all day. The pulley-less jacketed single-point lock release keeps operation smooth and cuts maintenance demands. Premium powder coat finish in Red, Blue, or Black.

Dual integrated rubber door guards and a padded overhead shutoff bar come standard. ALI/ETL certified and backed by Challenger's limited lifetime warranty on structural and functional components. And when your shop grows or your needs change, every upgrade in the CL10AV3 family builds on this exact platform: DPC adds dual pendant controls, QC adds the 3HP QuickCycle motor with 27-second rise, DPC-QC includes both, and EV variants add the EV-ready configuration. Height extensions in 2' and 3' sizes open up 14' and 15' bays. It all starts here. Call us to get yours on order.

Installation & Setup

The CL10AV3 fits a standard 12' ceiling. Overall height is 11' 2" or 11' 8" depending on the height position selected during setup, reaching 11' 11" with the cylinder fully extended. If your shop has taller ceilings, 2' and 3' height extensions are available separately for 14' and 15' bays. Three width positions (11' 6.5", 12' 0.5", or 12' 6.5" overall) and two height positions let you configure column spacing to match your bay dimensions and the vehicles you service most.

The 2HP motor requires 208V-230V, single-phase, 60Hz power on a dedicated circuit. Have your electrician confirm panel capacity and run the circuit before installation day. Concrete must meet the load requirements in the installation manual. Fully gusseted base plates bolt down with the included anchor hardware, and the pulley-less jacketed single-point lock release keeps the mechanical install straightforward while reducing long-term maintenance.

Applications

General Repair and Service Shops

The CL10AV3 handles the full range of daily service work: brakes, suspension, exhaust, oil changes, underbody inspections. Versymmetric arms cover the vehicle mix without dedicated lifts for different vehicle classes.

Dealership Service Bays

Symmetric and asymmetric loading in one bay means compact cars and full-size trucks share the same lift. Standard rubber door guards and the padded overhead shutoff protect customer vehicles every cycle.

Independent Multi-Brand Shops

Three-stage front arms reach 20" to 42" and rear arms span 37.625" to 60". Double telescoping screw pads adjust to OEM lift points across domestic, import, and European platforms without adapters for most vehicles.

Fleet Maintenance Facilities

At 10,000 lbs. capacity, the CL10AV3 handles light-duty commercial vehicles, vans, and work trucks. The 48" elongated carriage and heavy-duty cable system hold up under the repetitive daily cycling fleet bays demand.

Shipping

This lift ships via LTL freight on a 48-foot flatbed or freight truck. You're responsible for unloading at delivery, so have a forklift or similar equipment on-site when the truck arrives. Lift gate service is not available for equipment of this size and weight.

Our team coordinates the freight shipment and helps manage scheduling details. You'll need to contact the carrier to set a delivery appointment once the shipment is in transit. If on-site unloading isn't feasible, the lift can be shipped to the nearest freight terminal for pickup with a trailer or moving van.

Need a delivery window, residential delivery, or liftgate service? Contact us before ordering so we can confirm the best delivery setup and any accessorial charges.

Warranty

The Challenger CL10AV3 is covered by a Limited Lifetime Warranty for the original purchaser. Structural components including columns, arms, and carriages, along with functional parts such as cylinders, power units, and cables, are warranted against defects in materials or workmanship when the lift is installed and maintained per Challenger's specifications.

Coverage applies to lifts installed in the U.S. and Canada. Consumable items, normal wear and tear, improper use, and unauthorized repairs are excluded. Defective parts are repaired or replaced with reasonable labor and transportation costs included.

Warranty registration may be required after purchase. Refer to included documentation for details.

Frequently Asked Questions

What ceiling height does the CL10AV3 require?

The standard CL10AV3 fits a minimum 12' ceiling. Overall height is 11' 2" or 11' 8" depending on the height setting chosen at setup, and 11' 11" with the cylinder fully extended. If your bay has taller ceilings, 2' and 3' height extensions are available for 14' and 15' ceilings.

What upgrades are available in the CL10AV3 family?

The base CL10AV3 is the starting point. DPC adds dual pendant controls on both columns. QC adds a 3HP QuickCycle motor that drops rise time from 38 seconds to 27 seconds. DPC-QC includes both. EV variants add the EV-ready configuration for electric and hybrid vehicles. Every upgrade is available with 2' or 3' height extensions for taller bays. All configurations share the same 10,000 lb. capacity and structural build.

Can I load vehicles symmetrically and asymmetrically?

Yes. Challenger's Versymmetric offset front arms with directSPOT positioning allow symmetric loading (vehicle centered between columns) and asymmetric loading (vehicle shifted forward for door swing clearance). Front arm reach is 20" to 42" and rear arm reach is 37.625" to 60", supporting both configurations in a single bay.

What does the V3 designation mean?

V3 refers to the third generation of Challenger's Versymmetric arm platform. The CL10AV3 features the updated 48" elongated carriage design, three-stage front and rear arms, and the pulley-less jacketed single-point lock release. These are structural and mechanical updates over earlier versions that extend lift life and simplify operation.

What electrical supply does this lift need?

The 2HP motor runs on 208V-230V, single-phase, 60Hz power. A dedicated circuit is required. Have your electrician verify panel capacity and run the circuit before installation. Full electrical specs are in the included manual.

How many width settings are available?

Three width positions are selected during installation: 11' 6.5", 12' 0.5", and 12' 6.5" overall width. Drive-thru clearances are 100", 106", and 112" respectively. Inside column measurements are 110", 116", and 122". You choose the width that fits your bay at time of setup.

Can I add QuickCycle or Dual Pendant Controls later?

These are factory configurations, not field upgrades. If you think you'll want faster cycling or dual-side controls, it's best to order the DPC, QC, or DPC-QC variant from the start. Call us and we'll help you decide which configuration fits your shop before you buy.

Do I need a forklift for delivery?

Yes. The lift ships LTL freight on a flatbed or freight truck, and the driver does not unload equipment. Have a forklift or similar machinery on-site when delivery arrives. If that's not feasible, we can ship to the nearest freight terminal for pickup with a trailer or moving van.

Is this lift ALI/ETL certified?

Yes. The CL10AV3 carries ALI/ETL certification, meeting the Automotive Lift Institute's safety and performance standards. Many insurance providers and shop inspection programs require ALI certification for commercial two-post lifts.

What does the limited lifetime warranty cover?

Challenger's Limited Lifetime Warranty covers structural components (columns, arms, carriages) and functional parts (cylinders, power units, cables) against defects in materials and workmanship for the original purchaser. The lift must be installed and maintained per Challenger's specifications. Consumable items, misuse, and unauthorized repairs are excluded.
