BendPak HDS-14 14,000 lb Four-Post Lift
The BendPak HDS-14 is built for shops that need to lift heavy vehicles every day. With 14,000 lb capacity and 197.5" runways, it handles full-size trucks, commercial vans, and fleet vehicles that would max out a 9,000 lb lift. The cable system uses 1/2" aircraft-quality stainless steel cables with a breaking strength over 14,000 lb each. Dual-hub cable sheaves with 10.5" diameter and 2.25" sheave axles reduce cable wear and extend component life. ALI/ETL certified.
Who It's For
- Commercial Service Shops: Daily heavy-duty lifting of trucks, vans, and fleet vehicles. The 14,000 lb capacity handles what 9,000 lb lifts cannot.
- Truck and SUV Owners: Full-size pickups, duallys, and large SUVs that exceed the capacity of standard four-post lifts. Handles F-250s, 2500-series trucks, and similar vehicles with room to spare.
- Fleet Maintenance Operations: Service bays that work on delivery vans, box trucks, and commercial vehicles. The 197.5" runways and 140" wheelbase capacity at full load cover most commercial fleet vehicles.
- RV and Specialty Vehicle Service: Motorhomes, ambulances, and other specialty vehicles. Consider the HDS-14X for even longer wheelbases.
- Serious Home Garages: Enthusiasts with heavy trucks who want commercial-grade equipment at home.
Key Features
14,000 lb Lifting Capacity
14,000 lb total capacity with 7,000 lb maximum per axle handles 3/4-ton and 1-ton trucks, commercial vans, and other heavy vehicles that exceed the limits of 9,000 lb lifts. Four 1/2" diameter stainless steel aircraft cables, each with a breaking strength over 14,000 lb, provide over 56,000 lb of combined cable strength.
Extended 197.5" Runways
The 197.5" runway length handles wheelbases up to 140" at full capacity, covering most full-size trucks, crew cab pickups, and commercial vans. The 20" wide runways accommodate larger tires and duallys. Wheelbase requirements scale with load: 120" at 75% capacity, 100" at 50%, and 80" at 25%.
Dual-Hub Cable Sheaves
The 10.5" diameter cable sheaves with 2.25" diameter sheave axles dramatically reduce stress, fatigue, and wear on the lifting cables. The larger sheave diameter means less bending stress on the cables each time they wrap around, resulting in longer cable life. Grease fittings on every sheave and axle make periodic maintenance straightforward.
Heavy-Duty Roller System
The 1.75" roller axles with oversized self-lubricating cable rollers are scaled up from lighter-duty models to handle the increased loads. All lifting cables, airlines, safety latches, and sheaves are fully enclosed within the structure for protection while remaining accessible for visual inspection.
15-Position Safety Lock System
Fifteen locking positions every 4" across the 70" rise. Spring-loaded safety locks engage automatically as the lift rises. Adjustable safety ladders allow for precise runway leveling, even on sloped floors. Push-button pneumatic release disengages all locks simultaneously. Requires air supply: minimum 30 PSI / 3 CFM.
Secondary Slack-Cable Safety System
Independent backup slack-cable safety latches act as a secondary lock system that engages automatically to prevent uncontrolled descent in the unlikely event of cable failure. An integrated hydraulic flow restrictor provides controlled descent in the unlikely event of hose rupture.
Electric-Hydraulic Power System
Single hydraulic cylinder mounted underneath the runway with maintenance-free electric-hydraulic power unit. Reaches full rise in 60 seconds with 45 dB operating noise. Power unit location is customizable during installation.
Low-Profile Runways
The 7.5" minimum runway height with mid to long-style approach ramps works for low ground clearance vehicles. Approach ramps incorporate built-in rear wheel chocks for added security during loading. Runways feature a durable matte finish for traction with rail kit included for optional accessories.

Questions About the HDS-14?
Our team can help with capacity requirements, runway length, and installation planning.
Frequently Asked Questions
What vehicles can the HDS-14 lift?
The HDS-14 handles vehicles up to 14,000 lb with wheelbases up to 140" at full capacity. This includes 3/4-ton and 1-ton trucks (F-250, F-350, 2500, 3500 series), full-size vans (Transit, Sprinter, E-Series), large SUVs, and most commercial fleet vehicles. For longer wheelbases, consider the HDS-14X.
What is the difference between the HDS-14, HDS-14X, and HD-14T?
All three have 14,000 lb capacity. The HDS-14 has 197.5" runways and 70" rise. The HDS-14X has 229" runways (for 170" wheelbases) and 69" rise. The HD-14T has 195" runways and 82" rise for more headroom.
What ceiling height do I need?
Column height is 92" (7.7 ft). For full functionality with vehicles elevated to maximum height (77.5"), plan for 11-13 ft minimum ceiling height depending on vehicle height.
Are rolling jacks available for the HDS-14?
Yes. The optional RJ7W rolling bridge jacks have 7,000 lb capacity each and lift the front or rear of a vehicle off the runways for wheel and brake service. Stackable truck and van adapters are available for high ground-clearance vehicles.
Do I need an air compressor?
Yes. An air compressor is required to operate the pneumatic safety lock release. Specification: minimum 30 PSI / 3 CFM.
What makes the HDS-14 different from 9,000 lb lifts?
Beyond increased capacity, the HDS-14 has scaled-up components throughout: 1/2" cables vs 3/8" on lighter lifts, 10.5" cable sheaves with 2.25" axles, 1.75" roller axles vs 1.25", and 20" wide runways vs 19".
Is the HDS-14 ALI certified?
Yes. The HDS-14 is certified by the Automotive Lift Institute (ALI) to meet ANSI/ALI ALCTV standards. Also ETL approved and CE certified.
What are the concrete requirements?
Minimum 4" thick concrete slab with 3,000 PSI compressive strength. The floor must be level within 3 degrees. Do not anchor into cracked concrete, expansion joints, or patched areas.
How long does installation take?
Professional installation typically takes 4-6 hours assuming proper site preparation, adequate ceiling height, correct electrical service, and necessary unloading equipment.
What maintenance does the HDS-14 require?
Monthly inspections of cables for fraying or wear, lubrication of sheaves and axles using the built-in grease fittings, checking hydraulic fluid levels, and testing safety lock operation.
Can I use this lift with low-clearance vehicles?
Yes. The 7.5" minimum runway height combined with mid to long-style approach ramps allows loading of low ground clearance vehicles.
What power circuit do I need?
The HDS-14 requires 220 VAC / 60 Hz / single-phase power with a 30-amp dedicated circuit breaker. Licensed electrician should handle all wiring.
