BendPak 12APX-192 High-Rise 12,000 lb Two-Post Lift for EVs and Commercial Vehicles

The BendPak 12APX-192 is a 12,000 lb (5,443 kg) clearfloor two-post lift with 193" overall height built for electric vehicles, cargo vans, and commercial trucks. The Bi-Metric arms work in both symmetric and asymmetric configurations without hardware changes. Low-Pro design drops to a 4" minimum pad height for low-clearance EVs. ASARS locks arms automatically with over 2,000 lb of holding force. Full rise in 45 seconds. ALI certified.

4" minimum pad height clears low-profile EVs
Bi-Metric arms, no hardware swap for symmetric or asymmetric
ASARS auto-locks arms with 2,000+ lb holding force

Who It's For

EV service centers need the 4" minimum pad height to clear battery packs on Tesla Model S, BMW i4, and other low-profile electric vehicles. The 12,000 lb capacity handles heavier EVs like the Ford F-150 Lightning and Rivian R1T with room to spare.

Shops servicing commercial vans and delivery vehicles benefit from the 193" overall height. Standard lifts top out around 145" to 170", which doesn't leave enough room to work under high-roof Sprinters, Transit vans, or box trucks. The extended height gives technicians space to stand upright.

Mixed-fleet repair shops that handle everything from sports cars to work trucks can use the Bi-Metric arms. Switch between symmetric and asymmetric configurations without changing hardware. Front arms reach 26" to 55.25", rear arms reach 29.5" to 60".

Features

193" Extended Height

The 12APX-192 stands 193" (4,904 mm) tall. Maximum rise is 79" (2,006 mm). With adapters, you can reach 86.5" (2,210 mm) lifting height. Under-clearance at top locks is 75.5" (1,922 mm). That's roughly 3 feet more workspace than standard 12K lifts. High-roof cargo vans, delivery trucks, and lifted vehicles fit without the technician hunching over during undercarriage work.

ASARS Automatic Arm Restraint

The Automatic Swing Arm Restraint System locks arms in place with over 2,000 lb of holding force through a 360-degree grip. It engages automatically when the arm contacts the vehicle. No pins to insert manually. If a vehicle shifts during service or someone bumps an arm while pulling a transmission, the arm stays put. A quick-release lever lets you reposition when needed.

Bi-Metric Arms for Symmetric and Asymmetric Lifting

Front arms extend from 26" to 55.25" (660 to 1,404 mm). Rear arms reach 29.5" to 60" (745 to 1,524 mm). Each arm holds up to 3,000 lb (1,361 kg). You can lift a compact car symmetrically in the morning and an extended-cab truck asymmetrically in the afternoon. No arm swaps, no hardware changes. Just reposition and go.

Low-Pro Arms for EVs

The Low-Pro triple-telescoping arms drop to a 4" (101 mm) minimum pad height. That's low enough to clear the battery packs and underbody panels on Tesla, BMW, Porsche, and other low-clearance electric vehicles. Standard lift arms often can't get under these cars without risking damage. The Low-Pro design solves that problem while maintaining the strength to handle 12,000 lb total capacity.

Direct-Drive Hydraulics

Dual direct-drive hydraulic cylinders raise the lift to full height in about 45 seconds. The HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure) pump runs on 220 VAC single-phase power. Noise level stays under 70 dB. The direct-drive system has no chains or cables in the lifting path. Fewer moving parts means less maintenance and more consistent performance over time.

Clearfloor Design

No crossbeam on the floor between the columns. Drive-thru clearance is 103" (2,616 mm). Inside column width is 120" (3,047 mm). Overall width is 156" (3,959 mm). You can roll transmission jacks, drain carts, and tool boxes straight through without stepping over anything. The open floor speeds up jobs that require moving equipment under the vehicle.

Installation Requirements

Ceiling Height

The lift stands 193" tall (just over 16 feet). You need at least 16 feet of ceiling clearance, plus room above that for the tallest vehicles you plan to service. Measure your bay and account for lights, sprinklers, and ductwork before ordering.

Concrete Requirements

The lift requires a level concrete slab meeting BendPak's specifications for thickness, PSI rating, and reinforcement. Check BendPak's concrete requirements document for exact specs. Professional site evaluation is recommended.

Electrical

Power: 220 VAC / 60 Hz / single-phase on a dedicated circuit. A licensed electrician should handle the hookup following local codes.

Installation Notes

Professional installation by a certified technician is required for warranty coverage. ALI-certified anchor bolts and hardware are included. Check local permits and building codes before installation.

Questions About the 12APX-192?

Ceiling height requirements, EV compatibility, or help choosing the right two-post lift.

FAQ

Can this lift handle electric vehicles safely?

Yes. The Low-Pro arms drop to 4" minimum pad height, which clears the battery packs on Tesla, BMW, Porsche, and other low-profile EVs. The 12,000 lb capacity handles heavier electric trucks like the Ford F-150 Lightning and Rivian R1T. ASARS keeps arms locked during heavy component work like battery service.

What ceiling height do I need?

At least 16 feet of clear ceiling height for the lift structure. Add more clearance above that for tall vehicles. If you're servicing high-roof Sprinter vans or box trucks, plan for 17 feet or more total. Measure your bay and account for lights and sprinklers.

How do the Bi-Metric arms work?

Front arms extend 26" to 55.25", rear arms reach 29.5" to 60". You can set them up for symmetric lifting (centered on the vehicle) or asymmetric lifting (doors positioned outside the columns). No hardware changes required. Just reposition the arms for each vehicle type.

What's the minimum pad height?

4" (101 mm). That's low enough to get under Tesla Model S, Porsche Taycan, BMW i4, and other sports cars and EVs with low ground clearance. Standard lift arms often can't clear these vehicles without risking damage to underbody panels or battery packs.

What adapters are included?

The lift comes with 4 medium stacking adapters (2.5"), 4 tall stacking adapters (5"), 4 drop-in cradle pads, and 2 column-mounted adapter holders. This set handles most vehicle types out of the box.

What's ASARS and how does it work?

ASARS stands for Automatic Swing Arm Restraint System. It locks the swing arms with over 2,000 lb of holding force through a 360-degree grip. It engages automatically when the arm contacts the vehicle. No pins to insert. If someone bumps an arm during transmission or battery work, it stays locked. A quick-release lever lets you reposition when needed.

How fast does the lift operate?

About 45 seconds to full rise. Dual direct-drive hydraulic cylinders with an HVLP pump. Sound level stays under 70 dB, which is quiet enough to have a conversation during operation.

What power does the lift need?

220 VAC / 60 Hz / single-phase on a dedicated circuit. A licensed electrician should handle the hookup. Single-phase power is available in most commercial facilities without upgrades.

Is the lift ALI certified?

Yes. The 12APX-192 is ALI certified with automatic safety locks in each column, ASARS arm restraint, padded overhead shutoff bar, and heavy-duty equalizer cables. The certification confirms it meets automotive lift industry safety standards.

What's covered under warranty?

BendPak's 5-2-1 warranty: 5 years on structural components, 2 years on hydraulic cylinders and power unit, 1 year on electrical and operating components. Labor and parts shipping are covered for 1 year. Register within 30 days of purchase. Professional installation is required.

Is professional installation required?

Yes. Certified technician installation is required for warranty coverage. ALI-certified anchor bolts and hardware are included. Check local permits before installation.
