Who It's For

  • Low-Ceiling Shops: Open-top design with 144.75" post height fits spaces where standard clearfloor lifts won't work. No overhead crossbar to limit vehicle height.
  • Fleet and Commercial Operations: Services Sprinter, Transit, ProMaster vans, and work trucks with ladder racks and upfit gear that exceed standard lift clearances.
  • Heavy-Duty Service Centers: 12,000 lb capacity handles 3/4-ton and 1-ton pickups, loaded work trucks, and battery-heavy EVs that exceed typical 9,000-10,000 lb floorplate limits.
  • Dealership Service Departments: Bi-Metric arms switch between symmetric (trucks/SUVs) and asymmetric (sedans/coupes) without changing hardware.
  • Restoration and Performance Shops: Drop-end arms reach low-profile vehicles in the morning, while 12,000 lb capacity handles lifted trucks in the afternoon.

Features

Open-Top Floorplate Design

The 12APF eliminates the overhead crossbar found on clearfloor lifts. Post height is 144.75" with no overhead obstructions, accommodating high-roof commercial vans, lifted trucks with ladder racks, and tall SUVs. A 1.5" steel floorplate between columns conceals all hydraulic lines, equalizer cables, and wiring, protecting components and eliminating trip hazards.

12,000 lb Lifting Capacity

Exceeds typical floorplate lifts that max out at 9,000-10,000 lb. Handles 3/4-ton and 1-ton pickups, full-size SUVs, high-roof commercial vans, and battery-heavy EVs. Front and rear axle capacity: 6,000 lb each. Per-arm capacity: 3,000 lb. Rise time to 70": approximately 68 seconds.

Bi-Metric Triple-Telescoping Arms

Single arm set supports both symmetric and asymmetric configurations without hardware changes. Asymmetric reach: 26" to 55.25" for sedans and coupes with better door clearance. Symmetric reach: 29.5" to 60" for centered truck and SUV positioning. Drop-end arms provide lower pad height for low-profile vehicles.

ASARS Automatic Swing Arm Restraint

Patented system (US Patent No. US11820632B2) delivers 2,000+ lb of clamping force through a 360-degree forged-steel grip. Arms automatically lock in position when vehicles are elevated, preventing rotation when weight shifts during engine pulls, transmission work, or suspension service. Quick-release lever for repositioning.

15-Position Safety Locks

Safety locks engage every 4" across the 70" rise, providing 15 height positions for precise working height selection. Single-point safety release simplifies lock disengagement. Single-piece columns maximize rigidity. Dual 3/8" equalizer cables with oversized sheaves ensure balanced lifting.

Heavy-Duty Construction

Single-piece columns for maximum rigidity. Self-lubricating Dura-Glide polyethylene carriage bearings for low-maintenance operation. Electric-hydraulic power system with 2,170 PSI operating pressure. Sound level under 85 dB during operation.

Questions About the 12APF?

Ceiling height requirements, vehicle fitment, or help choosing the right two-post lift.

FAQ

What is the lifting capacity?

12,000 lb total with 6,000 lb per axle and 3,000 lb per arm. This handles 3/4-ton and 1-ton pickups, commercial vans (Sprinter, Transit, ProMaster), full-size SUVs, and battery-heavy EVs that exceed typical 9,000-10,000 lb floorplate lift limits.

Why choose an open-top/floorplate design?

The open-top design eliminates the overhead crossbar, making it ideal for low-ceiling shops and tall vehicles like high-roof vans, lifted trucks with ladder racks, and large SUVs. The 1.5" floorplate conceals hydraulic lines and cables for a cleaner, safer workspace.

What is the Bi-Metric arm system?

Bi-Metric arms support both symmetric and asymmetric lifting from a single arm set. Asymmetric reach (26"-55.25") positions more vehicle mass toward the columns for better door clearance on sedans/coupes. Symmetric reach (29.5"-60") centers vehicles for balanced access on trucks/SUVs.

What is ASARS?

Automatic Swing Arm Restraint System. This patented mechanism delivers 2,000+ lb of holding force through a 360-degree forged-steel grip, automatically locking arms when vehicles are elevated. Prevents arm rotation during engine pulls, transmission work, or suspension service.

What ceiling height do I need?

Post height is 144.75" (12'). The open-top design provides unlimited vertical clearance above the lift, so ceiling height depends on your tallest vehicle. This is ideal for shops where standard clearfloor lifts with overhead beams won't fit.

What are the concrete requirements?

Minimum 4" thick concrete with 3,000 PSI compressive strength for pre-existing slabs (4,000 PSI for new pours). Concrete must be cured at least 28 days. Anchors must be at least 6" from seams, joints, or cracks.

What power is required?

208-230 VAC, 50/60 Hz, single-phase, 23 amps with a 5 HP motor. A dedicated circuit is recommended. Licensed electrician required for installation.

How many safety lock positions are there?

15 positions spaced every 4" across the 70" rise. Single-point safety release for easy lock disengagement.

What adapters are included?

Frame cradle pads with medium and tall adapters, adjustable screw pads, and drop-end arm receivers for low-profile vehicles.

What is the warranty?

BendPak 5-2-1 warranty: 5 years on structural components, 2 years on hydraulic cylinders and power unit, 1 year on operating/electrical components with labor and freight coverage.
