Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How many tire applications does one 32oz can of bead sealer provide? A: One 32-ounce can typically provides 20-30 tire applications depending on tire size and the amount of sealer needed per bead. Passenger car tires usually require less product while large truck tires need more coverage for proper sealing.

Q: What's the difference between PBS-32 standard and PBSO-32 thick formula? A: PBS-32 standard formula works for most applications with normal rim conditions. PBSO-32 thick formula provides extra viscosity for severely corroded rims where standard formula might run off before sealing. Choose thick when dealing with deep pitting or vertical rim surfaces.

Q: Can this bead sealer be used on tube-type tires? A: No, PBS-32 is formulated exclusively for tubeless tire applications. The hydrocarbon-based formula can cause chemical degradation of rubber inner tubes. For tube-type tires, use traditional tire mounting compound or soap solution instead to prevent tube damage.

Q: How does PREMA bead sealer compare to rubber cement for sealing beads? A: Bead sealer is specifically engineered for bead-to-rim interfaces with higher solids content, superior gap filling, and flexible adhesion that remains pliable after curing even in cold conditions. Rubber cement is optimized for tire patches and repairs, not long-term bead sealing, and typically lacks the viscosity and cling properties required to stop persistent bead leaks effectively.
